Dashboard Confessional back in the studio

Dashboard Confessional fans rejoice: The band has entered the studio with producer Adam Schlesinger to begin work on album number six.

Chris Carrabba wrote a blog entry to update us on the recording process, which is currently in its first steps. "I took a vacation from my social obligations to write songs and before I knew it I had a batch that was new and intriguing and best of all connected to each other," Carrabba said. "I have missed you though while I have been working on this music, but I have discovered along the way that it is best for me to push all things to the periphery while in pursuit of new songs. If I don't, I worry too much about some imagined consequence that pulls the song I am working on in an unnatural direction."

Dashboard's last effort, The Shade of Poison Trees, was just released in late 2007. Looks like Mr. Carrabba still has much more to whine sing about.

Curious about a release date for the currently untitled disc? "Who knows how long these things will take. The process is an adventure and a mystery in and of itself," Carrabba explained.

Are you excited for a new album from Dashboard Confessional? Do you prefer his acoustic work over his full band efforts? Discuss in the comments below!

I am a huge DC fan. The Shade of Poisin Trees definitely has a newer maybe even more mature sound than the past albums, but still just as amazing. I can't wait to see what else Mr. Carrabba has come up with.

Just when I'd convinced myself that Dashboard Confessional must have died...

I wouldnt call myself a DC fan, but I do tolerate them from time to time.
I still have trouble believing Carrabba & Marilyn Manson were past best friends. =D
