Scott Weiland to Release First Solo Album in 10 Years

Scott Weiland has been keeping busy since his departure from Velvet Revolver. In addition to reuniting with Stone Temple Pilots, he has just announced a second solo album.

Perhaps even bigger news about the solo project is that No Doubt drummer Adrian Young will be participating on it, according to Billboard. Weiland spilled the news about the album earlier this week on Howard Stern's radio show, with Young also calling in to reveal his participation.

Weiland – who has been publicly feuding with former VR bandmate Slash – is shooting for a November release date on his own Soft Drive label, and famous engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Bush) will be twisting the knobs in the studio.

The currently untitled solo album has been in the works for quite some time now. In 2006, Weiland revealed to Billboard: "My music is a little bit different, obviously, than Velvet Revolver music." During the interview, he also revealed that his second solo album was "three-quarters done and a little bit more on the esoteric side."

Weiland's first solo album, 12 Bar Blues, was released back in 1998, and dawned the singles "Barbarella" and "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down."
