Nine Inch Nails Go to War Against ScalpersNine Inch Nails are tired of scalpers making money off of their concert tickets, and they've come up with a plan that may avoid this once and for all —
![]() For the band's upcoming tour, NIN will reserve some of the best seats in the house for their dedicated fanbase. According to Rolling Stone, fans will be able to buy the concert tickets on their Web site, 72 hours before the general public. The coolest part about this is that your concert ticket will have your name printed on it. Here's where it gets a little tricky — you can only receive your tickets at will-call on the day of the show and you must have your ID with you. Interested in hanging out in the parking lot before the show (and "pre-gaming" as the kids call it)? You can't! You must enter the venue immediately to avoid selling your personalized ticket to a scalper. This is quite intense, isn't it? It's terrible. I've seen entire AFI shows sell out in mere seconds and then seen hundreds of tickets the day of the show being sold for twice the amount. It sucks.
Although anti-scalping regulations kinda suck when you legitimately can't go to the show, and thus need to sell your ticket.
But I would use alternate methods to do that.
And does Trent Reznor even need any more money?
I've never really encountered many scalpers here, only seen a few here and there for festivals and such. Perhaps it's because we have a smaller population, and there's less demand. Luckily my more-often visited venue has 5000-10,000 capacity, so it rarely sells out, and there'd be no point scalping tickets. >_O
LOL I still think cutting off scalper's hands would be a more amusing alternative. =D
