David Cook to Team Up With My Chemical Romance Producer for Upcoming Record
From American Idiot to "American Idol" ... world-famous producer, Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), is set to work with David Cook on his debut release.

During a recent interview with EW.com, Cook had only positive things to say about his future producer, calling Cavallo: "a great producer with the kind of sound that I want … And in talking to him, he's just a good guy. Like the song selection I had on the show, Rob just fit."
Believe it or not, Cook will be co-writing most of the songs on his record (tentatively due this fall) with rock legends: Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace), Chantal Kreviazuk, Zac Maloy (The Nixons), Ed Roland (Collective Soul) and more.
Can Cavallo make Cook's record as successful as 2006's The Black Parade? Does Cook have the potential to become the next Daughtry? Discuss in the comments.
In May, 25-year-old Cook became the seventh season winner of "American Idol," defeating 17-year-old David Archuleta.
