Chris Cornell Addresses Led Zepplin Rumors
Chris Cornell has been on a giant list of rumored vocalists for Led Zepplin's upcoming tour without Robert Plant for some time now and has finally set the record straight!

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell declared to MTV. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss tour." Is Cornell trying to make a joke, or is he nervously covering up the truth that he is, in fact, going to be singing on the next Led Zepplin tour!?
The list of possible Zepplin vocalists is endless (and who wouldn't want a chance to perform "Stairway to Heaven" in front of a giant crowd each night) but the most popular rumored choices have been Dave Grohl, Sammy Hagar, Jack White, Steven Tyler and let's not forget about Myles Kennedy. Heck, at this point, Zepplin may as well have P. Diddy come on tour with them. I mean, he did rock out with Page in the music video for "Come With Me," off the Godzilla (1998) soundtrack.
Whoever Zepplin end up with, bassist John Paul Jones explained to BBC Radio that they are definately not looking for Plant II. "It's got to be right. There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."
Cornell shed his grunge roots for his third solo record, Scream, in which he teamed up with Timbaland to create something entirely different than any of his previous work. Just how different? All 13 songs blend into each other ... so the record plays as if it's just one long song!
Do you think Cornell would be a perfect fit for Zepplin? Should he reunite with Soundgarden instead?
