All-American Rejects' Second DVD

Four years later, the Rejects are about to release their second live DVD on July 10th 2007. According to Alternative Press, the DVD will be called Tornado and will include both a live concert filmed in Minneapolis back in December of 2006 and a behind-the-scenes-on-the-road documentary. Kaiser Chief's Give Us A Laugh
Alternative-Rockers Kaiser Chiefs are planning on releasing a new record. However, this album won't sound like anything else they have ever put out. It will be a joke album. (hahaha)
According to Ultimate-Guitar, the album was recorded spontaneously and was inspired by Ron Burgundy, the main charatcer in the movie Anchorman. Singer Ricky Wislon reveals: "We had this idea to record an album for 45 minutes off the top of our heads. We just made it up as we went along. I haven't listened to it since we recorded it. I'd like to but I know I'd cringe because it's really bad and unfunny." No word yet as to when the album will see the light of day. Hopefully it will be funny, unlike people who walk around quoting Anchorman. ![]()

TV: Back in the Day: You Can't Do That On Television
You Can't Do That On Television was a children's sketch comedy show that started off in 1979 as a local TV show in Canada and wound up being shown on Nickelodeon by 1981.
The show is best known for it's green slime (that would pour all over anyone that used the phrase "I don't know") and for one of it's cast members. (singer Alanis Morissette) Being drenched in water and having a pie thrown in your face were also staples of this hysterical show. Over 100 actors appeared on the show during it's 11 year run. Marilyn Manson's Columbine Torment
It's been 8 years since the tragedy that struck Columbine High School.
For those of you who may be too young to remember, Marilyn Manson's music was sited as a major influence in the terrible acts carried out by the two student killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Manson is still talking about what he went through during that time. Drowned In Sound has Manson as saying: "I always knew that I never felt guilty or that I did something wrong. I despised people who accused me of doing that. The whole point of my name was to make a statement about the very same thing I was being blamed for. "I almost feel cheated if Columbine is talked about and I'm not mentioned because I went through so much bullshit and torment, emotionally and personally, and so much concentrated effort to destroy me that I feel I'm being left out when I'm not mentioned. No one else can take credit for or take responsibility for what I already got blamed for. I don't wanna take responsibility because I already took it." ![]()

Not only that but people call me insane and other names like that. They also say I should go to a mental institution. I swear if I hear one more person say one of those things I'm going to GO insane! How can I prevent it? Craig: It takes a lot of courage to handle a problem like ADHD, and you should be aware of that. Not everybody has to face the challenges that you've been handed. Opinions are like rear-ends; everyone has one, and they all stink! You have to have onfidence in yourself first and foremost, no one else's words should be able to bring you down. Most of time, insults to other people are a result of person's insecurities. It's easy to cut someone else down in order to make themselves feel better, that way they don't have to pay attention to how little they think of themselves. According to Entertainment Wise, director Tim Burton wants to make a movie about the divorced couple. The movie would be based around their lives. “I'm fascinated by Dita and Marilyn. Overweight Idol?
Jordin Sparks in the winner of this year's American Idol. A show that is supposed to be based on singing and talent.
Apparently, one woman, Meme Roth, of National Action Against Obesity, thinks that weight should be a factor in the decision making process. I Don't Like You In That Way has a direct quote from Roth who feels that Sparks is sending a bad message to an already obese society: "When I look at Jordin, what I see is heart disease, I see diabetes, I see high cholesterol." The Future Of Deftones and Team Sleep
The Deftones are currently on tour with Fall Of Troy but that hasn't stopped them from creating new music.
According to Alternative Press, the band has been setting up a jam room backstage each night on the tour as they start to create the follow up to 2006's Saturday Night Wrist. Singer Chino Moreno had this to say about the jam room: "We're going in there and playing as five of us in the room with just our instruments, no other distractions. That's how we started out, basically, when we first started the band -- us in the garage, no ProTools or anything to get us ahead of ourselves. We'd just play things over and over again, until we remembered it -- that's the rawest way you can do it, and the best, I think." For fans of Moreno's side project, Team Sleep, Moreno has confirmed that in early 2008 we will be seeing a second album from them! ![]()

TV: Back in the Day: Garfield And Friends
Garfield and Friends was a two-in-one cartoon that aired Saturday mornings on CBS from 1988-1994.
The Garfield segment focused on the life of Garfield, a fat orange cat, as well as characters like Odie, John Arbuckle and Nermal. You also know of Garfield from the famaous comic strip and recent movies. The other segment was known as U.S. Acres (my favorite of the two) and focused on a group of farm animals, each of which had outrageous personalities. I found myself laughing a lot during this show. Characters included Orson Pig, Wad Duck, Booker and Sheldon. The Garfield segments had 242 in total while U.S. Acres only had 121. May 22, 2007The Bravery Bravely Talk About New Album
It's May 22nd 2007 which means by now you should have gone to your local record store and bought The Bravery's new album The Sun and The Moon.
The next time you see the band perform, you will know the lyrics, however, the band has been playing some of the new songs on the road for the past few weeks. NME has frontman Sam Endicott speaking about the experience: "I was a little scared at first because if you don't recognize the songs you're not gonna jump up and down, so I didn't know how people would react. But the reaction's been really good. I think people get into it because every song is different from every other." The band plans to do dance remixes and acoustic versions of their new songs that will be available online or on vinyl singles: "We did an acoustic version and a dance remix version of the first single 'Time Won't Let Me Go', and I'm trying to do that for all of the songs," Endicott said. "It's cool to see the different directions you can go with them. Plus a song like 'Time' -- it's so not a disco song that it's really fun to make a disco song out of it. Whereas doing an acoustic version of 'An Honest Mistake' was lots of fun because it's so different." ![]()

Pete Wentz Angry At Spider-Man
You know those scenes in Spider-Man 3 in which Peter Parker puts on the black suit, covers one eye with his hair and appears to be wearing eyeliner?
Well, a number of people have been telling Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz that he and Parker look very similiar in those scenes. In fact, according to The Rock Radio, even Wentz' own nephew brought it up to him. "My nephew, who doesn't know anything at all, says I was in a movie. I was like, 'All right...' I've heard about this from so many people," Wentz says. Although Wentz has yet to see Spider-Man 3, it was reported that at a recent show in Illinois, he yelled "Spider-Man 3 sucks" at the crowd. According to Neatorama, the restaurant is located inside a deconsecreated chapel set behind 60ft high walls, watch towers, searchlights and security cameras of the daunting 500-year-old Fortezza Medicea. There is an extensive security check done before you are allowed to enter the restaurant and the waiters are actual robbers, murderers and members of the Mafia.

Since the very first announcement of the reunited Smashing Pumpkins, it was known that Billy Corgan would return to vocals/guitar and Jimmy Chamberlin would return to drums.
Fans continued to wonder if James Iha and D'arcy Wretsky (the other two original members) would be rejoining the band as well. According to andPop, the two other members have been announced and are not Iha and Wretsky. Instead, Ginger Reyes (ex-Halo Friendlies) and Jeff Schroeder (Lassie Foundation) will be taking over the bass and guitar duties. The new Smasing Pumpkins album, Zeitgeist, is due out on July 7th 2007. ![]()

Korn Get Even Heavier (Not Physically)
For those wondering about the sound of Korn's eight album, due out in July, guitarist Munky has revealed that it will be one of the heaviest albums that they have ever recorded.
Ultimate-Guitar has Munky's thoughts on the upcoming release. Highlights from Munky's dialogue include: "It's very musical. I would compare it to [2002's] 'Untouchables'. It has a lot of highs and lows throughout it, and it's very gothic, I think. It kind of took on this whole gothic feel, which we didn't set out to do. When we were done with it, we sort of just sat back, and we were all kind of laughing about it, because it has that vibe throughout. I think our fans are going to be stunned by how heavy [the album] is, as far as an emotional sense." For those wondering if drummer David Silveria will return to the band, (he is currently on hiatus) Munky reveals: "He just needed to step back for a minute, because you lose perspective about real life. It's hard work, and everybody works hard, but after so long, it becomes kind of like a make-believe world that you're living in. ... But after we do these couple of tours, and by the end of the year, I think he'll be ready. But I don't want to put pressure on someone. If he's ready, he'll call us and tell us. I can't keep calling him and asking, 'Are you ready, are you ready, are you ready?' That would just push a guy like David further away." ![]()

VIDEO: Rock N Roll Therapy: Less Than JakeToday's Therapists - Less Than Jake ![]() In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, JR from Less Than Jake gives you some helpful advice via videos! Prettyasapicture: OK, so my friend, Julia, told me about two weeks ago that she was
bisexual, which is cool by me. But she also told me that she likes our
other friend Cory, who likes my brother. Cory and I are in a band
together, and Julia usually comes and just chills because she hates
spending time at home. So we started having practice at my house
recently because we have like, enough amps to fill a small country,
whatever. Cory knows that Julia's bi, but doesn't know that Julia likes
her. So my Cory's making off-color jokes about my brother (EX: Pretends
to give her guitar head then says, "That's what I'm gonna do to your
brother." Bassist runs away in terror.) and Julia's really
uncomfortable, but trying not to show it. Julia doesn't want to tell
Cory that she likes her, because Cory's straight and she doesn't want
to trash the friendship over this. To make things more complicated, I
recently found out that Julia is cutting herself, and I want her to
stop. I tried telling her stuff like, "I used to and I'm better now."
and stuff like, trying to get her to stop, but she does anyway. I
really feel like I should tell my guidance counselor, but our friend
Justin already told him that Julia was planning on killing herself a
while back and he didn't do anything to help her. Plus, I don't want to
lose Julia's trust.SO: 1) How can I get Julia to stop cutting? 2) What should I tell Julia the next time she asks me for advice on Cory? 3) How can I get Cory to stfu about my brother (and my brother's penis)? please answer ASAP, i have practice on Friday. Fall Out Boy Song Meant For Gym Class Heroes
I find this story very interesting.....
Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump has revealed to Ultimate-Guitar that their hit single "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" was originally written for Gym Class Heroes. Well, at least part of the song was.... Here's what Stump had to say about the song: "The music came from a groove I had written for Gym Class Heroes, the hip-hop group, and it was supposed to be a hip-hop songs and it didn't really work as that. But I still, I was nodding my head to it. I liked it. I have this thing where if, before I make the melody if I read words, no matter what they are, they're going to end up in it, and I make the mistake of reading some Fall Out Boy lyrics and it's a Fall Out Boy song. So, that's what happened to it." I'm ready to read your 1000's of comments on this story! ![]()

TV: Back in the Day: Hangin' With Mr. Cooper
Hangin' With Mr. Cooper was an ABC sitcom that aired from 1992-1997.
During the first season, the show centered around housemates Mark Cooper (a basketball coach and gym teacher), Vanessa Russell and Robin Dumars. Cooper owned the house until it was bought by his neighbors. They were supposed to be out of the house after a month but their son Tyler liked Cooper , Russell and Dumars enough that they family decided to let them live with them permanently. Hangin' With Mr. Cooper moved to the infamous TGIF line up for Season 2 and became more of a family-oriented show. The show made it to a whopping 101 episodes. Here is the opening from Season 2: ![]()

Plain White T's Become Acting Stars
Illinois Pop-Rockers Plain White T's have been playing music and rocking audiences since 1997.
Their recent spike in popularity have gotten them on a few big tours, some radio and TV airplay and now....roles on a new TV show!! The TV show, Greek, will begin this summer on ABC Family. A publicist for the show describes the show which "focuses on collegiate life and the social minefield that is the Greek system." Sounds interesting and unique to me! According to Alternative Press, the band will make several appearances on the show in both speaking and performing roles. ![]()

Musicians Reveal Their Favorite Lyricists
In response to my video message from Monday about music and lyrics, Envy On The Coast, We Are The Fury and Blinded Black have written to Buzznet about their personal favorite lyricists.
Envy On The Coast ![]() Alright well when I listen to a band....outside of the melody, lyrics are what draws me in because its where the artist really bares himself (or herself) for all the world to see and its sort of a voyeuristic pleasure you get out of knowing someone's secrets and fears. Its tough to say who my top 3 lyricists are but I'll give it a whirl. Regina Spektor is a more recent favorite of mine. I love the fact that she can interject random imagery and sounds into her songs while maintaining an almost uncomfortable honesty in her lyrics. She came into my life at a point where I was in love and her songs and words described feelings that I felt that I couldn't put into a sentence. I also love the fact that she doesn't muddy up her message with vocabulary and abstract metaphors. She's not trying to impress the SAT tutor with big words. She uses very simple imagery that anyone at any level of musicianship or reading can identify with and draw something out of. "Imagine you go away On a business trip one day And when you come back home, Your children have grown And you never made your wife moan, Your children have grown And you never made your wife moan." -Regina Spektor Click Here to read the rest!

Angels And Airwaves Bassist Goes Bye Bye
Angels And Airwaves can be considered an "all-star" band.
Made up of ex-members of Blink-182, Box Car Racer, The Distillers and Rocket From The Crypt, the band formed in 2005 and released their debut album We Don't Need To Whisper in 2006. Now, two years after their formation, bassist Ryan Sinn has been kicked out of the band, according to Ultimate-Guitar. Sinn posted a message about the situation on the band's fansite. Part of it reads: "All I'll say as to why I was kicked out, the reasons I was given weren't at all honest, and severely hypocritical to the point of abhorrent disgust." Angels And Airwaves are currently recording their second album and there has been no word yet as to who the new bass player will be. Any theories as to why Sinn was removed from the band? ![]()

May 15, 2007My Chemical Romance Downplay Next Album
My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade is an album of epic proportions.
Since it's release, fans and music critics alike have been wondering how they will ever be able to top it. The band itself isn't too concerned with making another huge album and singer Gerard Way has said himself that the next album will be "smaller and cheaper". The Rock Radio has more with Way about the next album: "With The Black Parade we just tried to make the biggest record of the year. It was nothing to do with whether it was a commercial success or not. We just wanted to make the biggest record we could. Now it's probably about reversing that and making a record that's, maybe, tracked live...It'll be simpler but not necessarily more aggressive." Are you looking forward to new MCR in the future? Which of there albums is your favorite and why? ![]()

Rock N Roll Therapy: Patent PendingToday's Therapists - Patent Pending ![]() In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Joe from Patent Pending gives you his best advice and tells from his own life experiences. ![]() Emosxrul3: yesterday i had a fight with a girl from school. i have no problem kicking her ass because she looks like a toothpick, but 9 days untill our class firld trip, so i cant do anything. im either going to kick her ass on the last day of school or off school grounds. but if i fight her off of school grounds the cops get called and we go to juvi. I REALLY WANT TO KICK HER ASS!!! HELP?! PP: Kicking ass is fun and productive through video games and comic book collections, but the truth is that no matter how bad you want to lay a beating on someone, it really never solves anything! and chances are you will still not feel any kind of release of nerves after administering the smack down, most of the time it will just leave you more and more frustrated, my advise, keep the gloves on and step forward by either killing them with kindness or just completley avoiding them. It's definitally not worth spending time in juvi because some punk-ass doesn't recognize! For more questions and answers, go to the Rock N Roll Therapy Group Related Groups:

TV: Back in the Day: Alf: The Animated Series
Nine out of ten people remember the live-actiton TV series Alf, but how many remember the animated cartoon based on Alf's life before coming to Earth?
Alf: The Animated Series was centered around Gordon Shumway's (Alf's real name before coming to Earth) life on Planet Melmac. Although the show was cartoon, a live-action version of Alf would appear in the beginning and ending of each episode to talk to the viewers at home. Alf: The Animated Series lasted 2 seasons (1987-1989) with a total of 26 episodes. Here is a short commercial for the Alf cartoon: ![]()
