Right From The Zorse's Mouth
You guys know how much I love my animal stories.....this one is about a zorse!!!!!
This rare animal is a mix between a horse and a zebra. She is named Eclyse and you can actually go and visit her at safari park in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, Germany! How cute is this animal? I want my own to sit next to me all day at Buzznet. Thanks to Neatorama for providing me with this story. I wonder what it eats. Zebra food or horse food??

MCR Start Working On Album Number Four
It hasn't even been a full year since My Chemical Romance released "The Black Parade" but they are already working on their next album.
Ultimate-Guitar has singer Gerard Way sharing his thoughts on the next release: "It feels like it’s about the right time to be making a new record. Maybe that’s because ‘The Black Parade’ was talked about for so long before it was released, but it feels like that album’s been out for a long time now. It’s only been eight months but we’re already on our fourth single and we’ve played a lot of shows. ‘The Black Parade’ was the kind of record that you make but don’t necessarily have a burning desire to perform because its creation was almost the point. It was such an intense experience to make it, that there was almost a feeling of wanting to move on as soon as we released it. It was so artistically ambitious that it made us want to keep on creating." There is no word yet on an album release date, new song titles, an album title or anything else...but I am sure this article made you smile :)

Hit The Lights Dims Singer Dims The Light
Hit The Lights have accomplished a lot as a band since their formation in 2003.
They've toured with the likes of New Found Glory, Cartel and Paramore and have released 2 EPs and a full length album, entitled "This Is a Stickup...Don't Make It a Murder". Unfortunately, the life of constant touring and making music isn't for everyone as Absolute Punk breaks the news that Hit The Lights singer Colin Ross has left the band. Ross has posted a message to the fans about his departure. Here's are some excerpts from the letter: "I have come to the decision to leave Hit The Lights. It's been a great time being in this band and I have a lot of amazing memories from it. After a long thought out process I have decided I would like to take a different direction with my life and not live this lifestyle any longer. There are no hard feelings between the band and I. I also want you to know that this is not the end of Hit The Lights. These guys are still on schedule and planning on recording a new record in the fall. I want to wish these guys the best of luck because they deserve it. They are working very hard right now for this next record, and I know that you all are going to be very happy with the outcome. Thanks again everyone." There is no word yet as to who the new singer will be. Any ideas on who should replace Ross?

TV: Back in the Day: Back To The Future: The Animated Series
Back To The Future: The Animated Series aired on CBS from 1991-1993.
The cartoon takes place after the movie Back To The Future Part III. However, unlike the films, where the main character is Marty McFly, the cartoon focuses mainly on the life of Doc Brown's family. Time travel takes place in the cartoon through both the Delorean sports car and a steam engine. The show only lasted for 2 seasons (26 episodes) but will live in our hearts forever. Here is the introduction from the show: ![]()

The Used Singer Undergoing The Knife
The Used had a busy summer ahead filled with touring, touring and more touring.
Unfortunately, their plans had to be dropped...but with good reason. Absolute Punk reports that singer Bert McCracken will be having surgery to help rid of the node that has developed on his vocal chords. The doctors say that McCracken should be able to sing again in five weeks, however the band is playing it safe and waiting until September to tour the states. Guitarist Quinn Allman added: "Kevin Lyman and the Vans Warped Tour have been amazing supporters of our band and we are truly saddened that we won't be able to perform on this year's tour." Get better soon Bert!!

Coheed And Cambria Bring The Foo
Coheed And Cambria are already a popular rock band. However, the addition of Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins on the recording of their upcoming album may gain them an even bigger following.
Their original drummer, Josh Eppard, recently left the band and although Hawkins isn't a permanent member, he's been adding a lot to the new songs. Singer Claudio Sanchez tells Kerrang!: Taylor's actually brought a tremendous amount to the band. He's an interesting drummer in the fact that he's a songwriter, so when he's playing the drums he's not thinking of it as 'Oh, I'm a drummer, how flashy can I be?', he's really 'What is going to add to this song and make it the strongest it can possibly be?' So it's definitely a new take on that part of the band and I think it really works well." The new album, entitled "No World For Tomorrow" is due out this fall and is being recorded as we speak!!!

Day Of Silence For Internet Radio
Are you wondering why almost all your favorite Internet radio stations are not broadcasting today?
Don't worry. It's not your speakers. It's actually a "National Day Of Silence" to protest the new royalty rate structure for web radio stations in which they will have to pay obserd amounts to continue to broadcast music. (This is scheduled to go into effect on July 15th!) According to Billboard, thousands of online radio stations are taking part in this "silence" today with only a few broadcasting like AOL Radio and Slacker. If you enjoy Internet radio as much as I do, please contact your representatives in Congress and tell them to support the Internet Radio Equality Act. If this law goes into effect, thousdands of online stations will have to close down!! You can read more about this ongoing situation at Save Net Radio. ![]()

Pete Doherty's Mom Doubts His Drug Free Life
Pete Doherty has been in and out of the news the past year for his drug addiction and stints in rehab.
Although some might be hopeful that Doherty's addiction is gone forever, his mom believes it isn't. NME has mother Jacqueline Doherty as saying, "Pete's not ready to give up yet. He will have to hit rock bottom before he can rise up again." If that isn't upsetting enough, a recent survey crowned Doherty the "celebrity flatmate from hell" when people were asked which famous people they would not want to share the Big Brother house with. June 22, 2007DJ Rossstar's Birthday Party Pictures!
Hey everyone!
Thanks to everyone who left me a birthday comment and/or e-mail. I still can't get over how many people wrote to me. You are all amazing. Last night, after my radio show, I hosted my 25th birthday party in my apartment complex. I invited around 50 friends and about 60 people showed up! We started the party out by the pool area but it got too loud and security had to move all of us to the rec room. (two floors with pool tables and couches) We had 3 different cakes to chose from (including one with a picture of me on it) and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It's a lot easier having everyone hang out in my complex, then trying to get everyone to go to dinner somewhere. I have posted some pictures from my party below. You might recognize some familiar faces. Don't forget to comment about them as well --DJ Rossstar ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

June 21, 2007Clay Aiken - The Musical
Let me start off by saying that this is not a joke. Sometimes the news I post is so extreme that I wouldn't blame you for not believing it.
Spinner has spilled the beans on "Idol: The Musical" which will open Off Broadway in New York City on July 5th 2007. The show is described as ""a satirical look" at the phenomena known as Clay-Mania -- a thumbnail that strikes us as being almost as redundant as "a soporific rendition of 'You Light Up My Life,'" although it fails to mention who actually gave the description. (perhaps they are embarrassed) The article doesn't tell us where we can get tickets but I heard a rumor that Buzznet's own panisonicyouth is looking for people to go with him since he already bought out the front row.

According to Ultimate-Guitar you can now purchase lunchboxes with Cobain's image on them, as well as a Kurt Cobain action figure and even a key chain/ liquor flask. ![]() The National Entertainment Collectables Association have been releasing all these products and are able to do so because Cobain's window Courtney Love licensed his image to them (Is that wrong or acceptable?) Love also sold a 25% stake in Cobain's song catalogue for $50 million putting him on the top of the Forbes list of the top-earning dead celebrities and Love much richer than she already was.

TV: Back in the Day: Hey Dude
Hey Dude was a teenage comedy TV show that aired on Nickelodeon from 1989-1991. (To this day, Hey Dude is still one of DJ Rossstar's all time favorite shows)
The show took place on the "Bar None Dude Ranch" and centered around the lives of the ranch owner, his son and five teenage summer employees and all the shenanigans that they went through each day. (although different characters came into the show later on) Some of the staff members included: Mr. Ernst (the ranch owner), Ted McGriff (the cool ladies man), Brad Taylor (the rich horse trainer) and Melody (the lifeguard) In real life Christine Taylor, who played Melody, went on to marry actor Ben Stiller. The show hasn't aired on TV in a few years but you can find DVD's of the series if you search for them online. Here is the theme song intro from Hey Dude:

Fantastic Four 2 Was Fantastic
Fantastic Four 2 was way better than Spiderman 3.
I don't remember Fantastic Four and I don't think I liked it all too much, but this one was a fun movie. I'll admit that it was cheesey at times, but it's geared towards younger children. The special effects were some of the best that I have ever seen. I thought the plot was well thought out and it kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Spinderman 3 tried to fit too many stories into one movie where as FF 2 was shorter but in the end proved to be more entertaining. I'm ready to hear your argument if you don't agree :) --DJ Rossstar

Kelly Clarkson Goes Back To Idol
Poor ticket sales isn't going to stop Kelly Clarkson from touring this summer.
Geno's World reveals that Clarkson is going to be offered "special cameo appearances" on the American Idol Tour that will run from July 6th to September 22nd. It is unclear as to how many songs she would be performing during her appearances, however, execs are hoping she will accept the offer in order to promote her upcoming album, "My December," which is due out on June 26th 2007. Apparently, the pre-sale for her album isn't doing so well, so this tour might be exactly what she needs to save her career from slipping.

Atreyu To Drop The Anchor
Southern California rockers Atreyu have officially named their upcoming album. Titled "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" the album will be released on August 28th 2007 through Hollywood Records.
Currently, fans have only heard one new song from the album. A track called "Becoming The Bull." For those wondering what the new album will sound like, Ultimate-Guitar has some quotes from singer Alex Varkatzas: "I just want to use words like organic and mature, because that's what bands start to say after they've put out a couple of records. But I really do love records by Cradle Of Filth and Alkaline Trio, where there's all these layers in the music. We've tried to put more layers in our music in the past, but it's never really seemed to work out. With this record, we've finally had enough time to do it. Plus, we're more comfortable working with John [Feldmann, producer] than we've ever been with any producer. He gets a really good performance out of anyone." While you eagerly await August 28th, you can catch the band on the Family Values Tour with Korn, Flyleaf and more. ![]()

June 19, 2007Two Days Until My Birthday
Wow. In two days I will be 25 years old. I can't believe how fast time goes. It seems like yesterday I was 22 and fresh out of college. Living in Los Angeles is great because it tends to make time stand still. You can go out on a Saturday night and see people of ALL ages out at 2am. I am proud of what I am accomplished in the past 5 years of being a host/personality and I feel that with age I will get only better at it!
This past weekend I went to a festival at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. I thought the show was going to actually be on the Queen Mary ship but it was in the little village-esque area outside of it. Louis and I got there at 4pm to see National Product. Danny's voice has gotten even better and he can reach a whole range of keys now. The Dear And Departed also sounded great. There were six stages and a good number of people at the event. Later on in the night, Zebrahead, one of my Top 10 favorite bands, performed to a packed crowd. I have seen them a lot of times and they always put one on of the most entertaining shows. Plus they sound incredible live! Unwritten Law played after and I was excited to see them because I don't even remember if I have ever seen them live before. We left the festival at around 11pm and headed back to Los Angeles. Now it's Tuesday and I am writing this from the fabulous Buzznet office. My birthday party should be great. 50+ people are coming and I am making sure that a lot of people bring cameras. --DJ Rossstar

Slayer Inferior To Marilyn Manson
Metal monsters Slayer have been tearing people's faces off in concert since 1981. However, for the first time, in probably a long time, Slayer will be performing in concert each night before Marilyn Manson hits the stage...and the band is okay with that.
Starpulse has Slayer guitarist Kerry King quoted as saying: "It is completely co-headlining, except that he wanted to close every day, and we're like, 'Hey, knock yourself out. We've been in so many situations like that, and sometimes, it's better not to be the last band on. So, we're just kind of happy about it. I don't have the ego that makes me - and I'm not saying Manson does - but I don't have the ego that makes me have to close every show. I won't be playing any longer, and we'll be done with our show and be able to chill for a change." Why do you think Manson wants to close the show every night? Is he being a divo? ![]()

June 18, 2007Marilyn Manson - The Art Show
Did you know that rocker Marilyn Manson is also an artist?
According to Blabbermouth, 40 original watercolors, all done by Manson, will be shown at Gallery Brigitte Schenk in Cologne, Germany. The exhibit will be open to the public from June 28th to July 28th. Manson's work is currently being shown at Space 39 Gallery in Ft. Myers, Florida. Curious about Manson's work? Space 39 Exhibition Director describes his paintings: "Manson's work highlights a trend in contemporary painting which does not seek to glorify the subject as something it's not but instead to visually speak of the subjects he paints with a rawness and blood-wrenching honesty. With vibrant colors dripping, muddy tones and splattered abstractions Manson owns his own voice as a powerful visual artist.....He has landed where few artists dare to tread, near an embankment where unmistakable political and psychological themes run colorfully mad." ![]()

White Stripes Vinyl Killed The MP3 Star
With Mp3's ruling the world, music in the form of vinyl is almost extinct. These days, an album is usually put out on CD and digitally online only, but The White Stripes are bringing vinyl back.
The White Stripes' "Icky Thump" will go down in history as the biggest selling vinyl in the UK with over 10,000 copies sold in only two days! According to NME, the success of the single has something to do with the free vinyl single the band gave away with copies of NME Magazine earlier this month for "Rag And Bone". Richard Russell, chairman for XL Recordings, explains, "With this collaboration with NME, we felt that it could work on one or two levels. It gives consumers something amazing and it has the attention to detail that The White Stripes always apply to everything they do." In related news, The White Stripes are playing in Los Angeles on Wednesday at "Icky Thump Records" (the old Tower Records location on Sunset Blvd.) and people have been lined up since yesterday morning! ![]()

The Fratellis Just Say NO!
Some musicians accept almost every offer they get.....and others don't.
The Fratellis were offered the huge honor of re-recording The Beatles' "Hello Goodbye" which would be played as David Beckham's offical song for his first game of soccer as an LA Galaxy player. How did they respond? According to NME, with the words "no fucking way." Self-respect is important to The Fratellis. Singer Jon Fratelli explained: "We've turned down a huge list of ridiculous things like that. We're not a bunch of travelling salesmen. If we don't get successful on our own terms then we won't do it at all." ![]()

Making The Band 4: R&B Men
These days MTV is filled with reality shows. Therefore it should be no surprise that "Making The Band" Season 4 will begin airing on June 18th 2007.
The show, which helped boy-band O-Town rise to fame, will feature men competing for a spot in a new R&B group. Once again, rapper P. Diddy has the final decision as to who will win and who will be sent home bandless. According to Starpulse, open auditions were held and 20 of the best men were selected to live in a Manhattan loft and will be competing in both singing and dancing on the show. The men have come from all over the country including Detroit, LA, Chicago, NY, Atlanta, Charlotte and Orlando for a chance at fame. ![]()

Nobody Wants To See Kelly Clarkson?
In some very sad news, Billboard reports that Kelly Clarkson's summer arena tour has been postponed because of low ticket sales (I thought she was one of today's biggest artists!?)
Here is some more information on the situation: "We came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew," says LiveNation CEO Michael Rapino, whose company is promoting the tour. "In the end, we are in the Kelly Clarkson business and for that reason we believe that this decision will only benefit her and her fans in the long run." If you had already bought tickets for her summer tour you can refund them OR you can get first priority at seats once her fall tour is announced (better idea!) Clarkson's new album "My December" is due out on June 26th 2007. Hopefully the release will help increase her ticket sales next time around. ![]()

A Night At The Opera With Korn
It sounds too good to be true but it has been confirmed that Korn singer Jonathan Davis is writing an opera!
Ultimate-Guitar reveals that the opera is called "Oblivion" and Davis has referred to it as a "dark opera" and "way different." Davis is writing the opera with Richard Gibbs (American film composer and music producer, ex: Dr. Dolittle) and Clive Barker (author, film director, visual artist, ex: Hellraiser) Although there is no release date for the opera, it is known that although Davis is writing the music for it, he will not star in it. Oh, and it will be about the end of the world! ![]()

The Tick was an animated series that aired on FOX between 1994 and 1996 (36 episodes)
The show was about about a blue crime-fighting superhero named The Tick and his sidekick Arthur. The Tick's character is a spoof on the superhero genre and so were some of the other characters including: Die Fledermaus, Sewer Urchin and American Maid. A few yeas after The Tick cartoon ended a live-action TV series of The Tick began on FOX, however most people just remember the cartoon. Here is the intro fro the animated series The Tick: ![]()

White Stripes Rule Both Coasts
The White Stripes are celebrating the release of their new album Icky Thump on both sides of the United States.
According to NME, on Tuesday night, June 19th 2007, the band will be playing secret intimate show in New York City. As of now, the show is so secretive that I don't even know where it is or I would tell you. The following day, the White Stripes will be playing a special show in Los Angeles. The show will take place in West Hollywood at the old Tower Records store at 8801 W. Sunset Boulevard. Always filled with original ideas, the band is constructing the old store into 'Icky Thump' Records (any ideas on what they will do to redesign the store?) If you want to go to the Los Angeles show you need to be one of the first 200 people to buy the new record at that location on Monday at midnight or you can win them on KROQ 106.7 FM.

Would You See A Tool Movie?
Rockers Tool have been making music since 1990 and have put out 4 albums.
The band has accomplished a lot in their 17 year career and are considering making a band movie. Guitarist Adam Jones has revealed some information about this idea and Ultimate-Guitar has the direct quotes: "Everyone has to be very happy and it has to be done in a way where people would see integrity and hard work and not just something thrown together or home movies or some shy filmed live show." Tool has had some outrageous music videos in the past and Jones has served as the visionary behind them. We can only imagine what the movie would look like. "If I had my way, it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects we could throw at it. I think some of the other guys would like to do pockets of all of that or something that's live or we're playing. It's just talk right now," Jones says.
