HIM Singer Says Yes To Smoking Bars

I don't smoke and I am happy that it's illegal for people to smoke in bars around me.

Ville Valo, singer of HIM, strongly disagrees with me.

Valo tells Kerrang!:

"It's such a c**nty idea!.  I understand totally if restaurants where you eat would be totally smoke-free.  But imagine you can't sit at the pub, smoke a fag and meet new people?  What the f**k are you going to do?"

What is Valle's solution to this dilemma you ask?

"I'll just build my own bar at home. You can smoke whatever you want in my bar!"

Would you go to Valle's bar if he actualy built one?

My Chemical Romance Plan UK Trip

My Chemical Romance are not fans of vacationing.  They've been touring non-stop since the release of "The Black Parade" in 2006.

The band will be performing on the Projekt Revolution Tour until early September...but the fun doesn't stop there!

Gigwise has announced that the band will be performing four shows in the UK this November.

Four shows doesn't sound like a lot except for the fact that they are all arenas!

Here are the tour dates:

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena – November 11
Aberdeen AECC – 12
Sheffield Hallam FM Arena – 13
London, The o2 – 15

DJ Rossstar's Top 10 Songs Under 60 Seconds

A song doesn't have to be 8 minutes long to be considered a masterpiece.  Sometimes a shorter song helps to get the message across just as well.  Other times it's just fun to hear what a band can create in such a short amount of time.

Here is a list of my Top 10 Songs Under 60 Seconds.  As always, this is strictly my opinon and I would love to hear yours in the comments section!

DJ Rossstar's Top 10 Songs Under 60 Seconds:

10. Allister - Love Song

Super short and then super fast, this song clocks in at 18 seconds!

 9. Reel Big Fish - Another F.U. Song

Okay, so I cheated. This song is actually 64 seconds, but who can resist a song that it is a foul-mouthed ode to everything they hate.

8. Blink-182 - Family Reunion

A fan favorite, Blink fit almost every curse word imaginable into this short song.

7. Rancid- Disgruntled

The second song off Rancid's super fast Rancid 2000, this is a fast-paced song that is fun to sing along to, even though I have no clue what he is saying besides the word "disgruntled."

6. The Ataris - The Radio Still Sucks

Dissing alternative rock artists like Bush, Oasis and 311, this short song is fast and to the point that in singer Kris Roe's opinion "The radio still sucks."

5. Offspring - Hand Grenades

In under a minute, The Offspring teach you how to make hand grenades from common things around the house.

4. Less Than Jake - Anchor

Less Than Jake spend under 60 seconds singing shoutouts!

3. Green Day - The Ballad Of Wilhelm Fink

A short acoustic song by Billie Joe about late night drinking at the Berkeley Marina.

2. Suicide Machines - Jah

This 5 second song has a slow drum roll and only one word sung.  How can a song get any shorter?

1. Suicide Machines - Punk

This is how...  Punk clocks in at 4 seconds with a fast drum beat and once again only one word sung!

TV: Back in the Day: Get A Life

Get A Life was a short-lived comedy starring Chris Elliott (There's Something About Mary).

The show's main character was a 30 year old man named Chris Peterson who still lives at home and is extremely childish.  He doesn't have a license so he delivers newspapers for a living via bicycle.

A unique staple of the show was that Chris would often die at the end of an episode.

Some of his many deaths included: being crushed by a giant boulder, shot by a cop, stabbed to death and even getting his head ripped off.

Everything about this show was bizarre and original which is probably why FOX only kept it on air for 35 episodes. (1990-1992)

I recommend you check the show out on DVD.

Here is the introduction to Get A Life:

Rock N Roll Therapy: New Years Day

Today's Therapists - New Years Day

In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Keith from New Years Day gives advice to Buzznet members that are facing some tough personal issues.

Shotgunmessage: I spend hours and hours writing.  The thing is i have everyone around me pushing me to get stuff published in magazines or stories and poetry books but thats not what i want. I write lyrics and i want them to be served as lyrics, but since i cannot play anything instrument to save my life ( i have tried bass, drums, keyboard, and am still trying guitar) being able to join a band to get my lyrics across isnt going to happen. So i have no other way of having them heard or used, the majority of bands want to keep integrity and use their own lyrics, so pushing for other bands to use mine seems unfair. Any suggestions on how to get my lyrics across. I have tried to contact lables but all seem to say the same thing "start a band, and then send us your demo".
What can i do to have my work seen?

Keith: Some of the most successful people I've met when it comes to writing music were lyricists. Lots of publishing companies will swoop up people who are gifted with words, just like they swoop up songwriters. I'm the opposite; I can write music until the sun comes up, but I majorly suck at writing words, which is where my bandmates (or a friend like yourself) would come in. If I were you, I'd probably try to team up with a pianist or guitarist (if possible) who can write a tune to your lyrics, and send it to publishing companies instead of most labels (unless they're cool indies that would appreciate the artsy side of things). It's publishing companies who supply most of the songs for many major bands and pop/mainstream acts.

Msva93: UGH! I wen't vegetarian about 2 months ago and I love it! I feel helthier, stronger, and like I'm a better person. But I keep finding my self with a peice of chicken in my hand or gaging every time I look at that bocca burger. I don't want to go back to eating meat. Can someone give me some tips or something to stay on my "diet"???

Keith: You feel healthier and stronger when you don't eat meat? Damn. I felt like shit for a month or two when I stopped eating meat. If the problem you're having is resisting the temptation of eating meat, then think about whatever motivation drove you to stop eating it in the first place, and if it was a strong conviction, it should be easy

Iamsam: At work this guy and I were totally on the verge of getting into a relationship. Then on of the crew leaders decided that she liked him and started hanging out with him at work. Well, he started to like her and made it so obvious in front of me. He was basically throwing himself at her. So I just sat back and got a little heartbroken but as the week progressed you can tell that there is something going on. I was fine with it, I guess until she started giving me these looks of death, she hates me now. But they are giving the " We are totally having sex/sexual relations but we don't want to talk about it" face. It makes me ill. What makes me more mad is that I was about to be in a relationship with this guy and she totally ruined it. I still really like the guy, but I do not want sloppy seconds. What should I do?

Keith: Why on Earth would you still want to be with someone who acts like that? I swear, girls put up with the most obvious bullshit from guys. If you have ANY self esteem, you'll probably quickly realize that you're more than capable of finding someone who is deserving of your time and effort. I've always been dumbstruck and saddened by girls who think lowly of themselves and put up with the corniest crap from cheeseball dudes. There are still good guys out there. Unfortunately nice guys like us finish last, but honestly, find a badass nice guy. They're not all boring, I promise!!

Have a personal issue? Would you like to get some advice from a musician?   Post your situation in the Rock N Roll Therapy Group.

Question 4:

Jess (13): If you could make an entire album with any artists in the world, who would they/he/she be?

Tour '07 line up that has been an inspiration to any of you, whether its musically/mentally/etc.?

Bryan: Marni, if i had to pick an inspiration on warped tour i would have to say aaron from underoath/the almost. i dont know him personally, but for someone to be that busy and that talented is a true inspiration.

Question 7:

Jessica (17): What is the most important tip for success in the music industry that you could give?

Bryan: Jessica, the most important top that i could give about the music "industry" would have to be there are always people out there that hate what you're doing.  as long as you like it, you can never go wrong.

Would You Like To Manage A Band?

I am constantly meeting people who love music and would love to manage a band but they have no experience in that field.

Vipbandmanager.com is giving you the chance to fulfill your dream career without any prior training.

According to NME, once you register yourself on the free website, you will immediately become a manager and help decide on what musicians should make up a new band.  Once the band is created you will vote on different aspects of their career to help them achieve three goals:

1. Achieve 1 million fans

2. Stage a 12-date UK Tour

3. Get a number 1 record

This opportunity is limited to 50,000 managers and auditions are being held now for band members.

I think this sounds like a great idea.  Do you?

DJ Rossstar's Hollywood Tales

People ALWAYS ask me if I run into celebrities in Los Angeles and the answer is usually no.

However, the past two weeks I have experienced a run in with two different celebrities and I thought I would share the experiences with you.

Last Friday night I went to Lucky Strike in Hollywood to bowl with a few people. As I was walking towards the entrance, so was Jamie Foxx from the other side. He and his bodyguard were walking to slowly so I darted in front of them to get into the building, bumping into Jamie while doing so. His bodyguard gave me a look but I made it out alive.

Yesterday I was in Macy's paying for something and the cashier told me I look like Joel Madden which is funny because if there was an award for looking LEAST like Joel Madden, I'd probably get it!

Finally, last night I went with a few friends to the famous Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood. I was using the bathroom and someone stood next to me. That person accidentally stepped on my foot and said he was sorry. When I looked over to say it was cool I noticed that it was Dave Navarro. Haha.

Those are my Hollywood stories for this week!

Be sure and check this list I just created of the Top 5 Zombie Movies and let me know your own list!

DJ Rossstar's Top 5 Zombie Movies

I am a horror movie fanatic.  I have seen well over 60 horror movies from all different countries.

Zombie movies are a type of horror film that people either love or hate.

I love them and have decided to list my Top 5 Zombie Movies.

I hope you list yours as well in the comments section!

DJ Rossstar's Top 5 Zombie Movies:

5. Tombs Of The Blind Dead Series - (1971 - 1975)

This four-part Spanish horror series (dubbed in English) features a different type of zombie then you may be used to...blind ones!  Good luck trying to hide because they can smell you.  The grainiy look from the film quality itself (this is the 70's) makes these movies appear even creepier.

4. Day Of The Dead - 1985

My favorite in George Romero's "Dead" series, Day Of The Dead is both the eeriest and most suspenseful.  The characters in this movie are stuck in a an underground bunker while zombie roam the land above.  The bunker seems safe but what happens when the zombies find the way in...

3. Dawn Of The Dead (Remake) - 2004

The original Dawn Of The Dead (1978) was a good zombie movie but the remake took everything about it and made it a lot better and while adding in some new creative elements.  While funny at times,  the movie also made you feel for/connect with the main characters.  The scene with the large almost-zombie woman is insane!!!!

2. 28 Weeks Later - 2007

I wasn't a fan of the first movie in this series (28 Days Later) but this film completely blew me awyay.  Something about the way it was filmed made me actually feel like I was in the movie which is something that I believe is extremely hard to do.  I rarely get scared during horror movies but this one did it for me.

1. Return Of The Living Dead - 1985

This was the first zombie movie I ever saw (I think I was able 9 years old) and it's still my favorite.  ROTD has the perfect mix of horror, gore and comedy.  The effects are great and the ending is one of my the most absurd things I have ever witnessed on film to this day.

DJ Rossstar's Top 5 Cartoons

Watching cartoons as a child is a staple of most children's childhood.

As time goes on you start to pick favorites and years later those cartoons are still able to entertain you as much as they did when you were young.

Just for fun I have compile a list of my Top 5 Favorite Cartoons.

I would love to hear yours so please be sure and post them in the comments section!

DJ Rossstar's Top 5 Favorite Cartoons:

5.  Doug - Nickelodeon

Doug
is a cartoon about a kind 6th grader named Doug Funnie who has a passion for music as well as writing.  His best friend is the off-beat and blue-colored Skeeter Valentine and his middle school crush is the orange-skinned Patti MayonnaiseDoug's daydreams played a large part in the show.

4. Inspector Gadget - Nickelodeon

Inspector Gadget is a clumsy detective who is also a cyborg with different gadgets built in his body that he can use on demand.  With the help of his intelligent niece Penny and smart dog Brain, Gadget is able to solve cases and foil the plans of the evil Dr. Claw.

3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - CBS

I can go on forever about how amazing this show is.  Giant talking turtles who live in the sewers with their master Splinter (a giant rat) and fight a series of other mutants throughout the course of the show.  This cartoon was my life for many years and I had at least 300 of the action figures!

2. Animaniacs - FOX

Animaniacs mixes wackiness with music and education.  The show's three main characters, Yakko, Wakko and Dot made everything they did seem fun and the show would always put me in a good mood with it's old-fashioned wit.

1. Family Guy - FOX

Family Guy can be considered an adult cartoon with often crude language and scenarios.  However, it is also the funniest show I have ever seen on television and The Griffin Family (Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris and Stewie) each have their own personalities that still manage to make you laugh.  I can watch this show over and over and over and never get sick of it.

DJ Rossstar's Top 10 Flawless Albums

From time to time, some of your favorite bands have put out songs that you didn't love.

I have decided to make a list of my Top 10 Flawless Albums.  These are the albums that I can listen to from start to finish because every single song is equally as amazing as the one before it.

Be sure to post your own list in the comment section!

DJ Rossstar's Top 10 Flawless Albums:

10. MXPX - The Ever Passing Moment

Most MXPX fans call Life In General their best album, however, The Ever Passing Moment is the only MXPX album that I have to listen to straight through every single time.  Every song is just too catchy to skip!  An essential pop-punk album.

9. The Ataris - End Is Forever

Kris Roe writes some of the most genuine and unique lyrics I have ever heard.  Each song on this album sounds different than the one before it.  One listen through this album and you will be hooked!

8. Less Than Jake - Anthem

Few bands have been able to create pop-punk and punk-ska songs as incredible as Less Than Jake.  For those of you who don't know, Less Than Jake have two singers and both truly showcase their talents with vocals and melodies on this album.

7. The Network - Money Money 20 20

Since this album was released in 2003 it has been argued that three of the band members are actually Green Day in disguise!  Whether it is or isn't, this album found me enjoying nu-wave music for the first time.  This album is for fans of both electronic music as well as punk music.

6. The Matches - Decomposer

When I first heard this album it wasn't what I expected.  After giving it a few listens I realized just how genius it really was.  This is not your average pop-punk/rock record and I quickly learned to appreciate the artistic nature of each song and the album as a whole.  In my opinon, this album is very underrated.

5. Suicide Machines - Destruction By Definition

This is the album that got me into punk-ska 11 years ago and I still love listening to it.  The successful blend of different music genres on these songs is what makes this record so incredible.

4. New Found Glory - S/T

In my opinon, New Found Glory are one of the best pop-punk bands of all time.  I love memorable lyrics, catchy hooks and catchy melodies and this album is their best collection of those types of songs.

3. Boys Like Girls - S/T

From the first time I heard this record I was hooked.  Each single song on this album will be stuck in your head after just one listen.  This is the ulitmate pop-rock album.

2. Sum 41 - Chuck

This is one of the "heaviest" albums that I love listening to.  Chuck showcases how incredibly talented the band members are at their instruments as well as their song writing.

1. Green Day - American Idiot

Green Day is my favorite band and I love every song they have released.  What makes American Idiot different than their other albums is that I have to listen to it straight through because the songs flow so well into each other.  It wouldn't be possible to listen to it on shuffle as I could with an album like Kerpunk! or Warning.  I would feel like I wasn't getting the full experience of the album.

Fall Out Boy Talk New Songs And Sound

Fall Out Boy have some new songs written but don't expect to hear them soon.

Singer Patrick Stump reveals to Billboard:

"I've got a bunch of songs written, but I think I'm going to wait a while before we release it, because I'm still really proud of this record and I want to kind of give it some space."

Stump also speaks about the evolution of Fall Out Boy's sound and sites Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong as an influence:

"He [said he] didn't want to play four-chord punk rock for the rest of his life.  If anybody knows anything about punk rock more than Billie Joe from Green Day, I don't know who it is.  So I looked at that and their growth, and I think about how honest that is.  They're really just true to what they are, and so that's how we are.  I think we'll change stylistically, but at the end of the day, that's just something you wear.  You're still yourself."

Where do you think Fall Out Boy's sound should go next?

Rock N Roll Therapy: Dropout Year

Today's Therapists - Dropout Year

In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Brandon from Dropout Year gives advice to Buzznet members that are facing some personal issues.

Emoguitarist921: I'm very lonely and want a gf but i can't ever seem to get a date and it seems like i never will. i also have this friend Maggie who is really cool and nice and we have a lot in common i really care for her would really like to date her. right now she is in a rocky relationship. her bf said they should take a break and he is away for the summer. she was upset about it but got over it quick. but then he called her and said "i saw this girl and she reminded me of u and how much i love u and this fight and taking a break thing is stupid and when i get back i want to get back together" she seemed to be like o ok and they started to talk again but he stopped calling her and she can't call him so now she is angry at him. i want to ask her out but i'm afraid it might ruin our friendship and also i'm afraid that her and her bf might get back together. wat do u think i should do?

Brandon: you should let her take care of this situation with her boyfriends/ex boyfriend before pursuing anything. her feelings and such for this situation might affect what could or could ot happen with you. if and when you try to make a move (and when the time is right, go for it) it should be when she is free and clear of any drama from that situation. the last thing you want to happen is to be a rebound, and ruin you friendship with her in the same action. patience is key.

DJ Rossstar's Top 10 Albums of 2007 (So Far!)

Although the year is only half over, I decided to make a list of my Top 10 Albums of 2007 so far.

I am curious to hear your lists as well, so be sure to post them in the comment section!

DJ Rosstar's Top 10 Albums of 2007 (So Far):

10. The Used - Lies For The Liars

I'm not a fan of screaming but Bert McCracken makes it sound right.  The songs on this album are a little more experimental than the past albums from The Used but still manage to capture their sound.  Plus, it's easy to know when are listening to The Used because Bert has a voice like no one else.

9. No One Goes Home - The New Era

I'm a sucker for a catchy hook and No One Goes Home's debut album is full of them.  The addition of keyboards on the album add to it's originality and the band put on one of the best live shows I've seen in a long time.

8. Sum 41 - Underclass Hero

I recently fell in love with Sum 41.  In fact, their last album Chuck is one of my top 20 favorite albums of all time.  Going for a softer sound this time around, a lot of the songs on the album remind me of Blink 182's Take Off Your Pants And Jacket and S/T albums which are two albums that I love.

7. Tegan And Sara - The Con

Their last CD So Jealous was my guilty pleasure CD of last year.  People are usually surprised to find out how much I enjoy the music of these two twin sisters, especially since it's a bit slower than what I usually listen to and a lot of acoustic guitars are used....but this CD is so catchy and I am no longer afraid to admit that I am a fan!

6. Reel Big Fish - Monkeys For Nothin' And The Chimps For Free

Reel Big Fish are a fun band that make fun music.  Where as their last album was a bit dark lyrically, this one has a more positive attitude....and like all of their releases, will have you singing along in no time! 17 tracks of ska/punk/rock/alternative fun!

5. MXPX - Secret Weapon

I have been a fan of MXPX for 11 years now and I have seen them live at least 15 times.  Although I enjoy almost all of their collection, Secret Weapon is by far their best album in 7 years.  Every song come complete with unique lyrics that MXPX have become known for as well as some of their fastest songs ever that will leave you moshing in your room!

4. Yellowcard - Paper Walls

I first discovered Yellowcard a little bit after One For The Kids was released.  That album was amazing.  The next album, Ocean Avenue, was amazing...and then came Lights and Sounds.  For some reason it didn't stick with me as much but I was curious to hear Paper Walls.  I am so glad I did.  This CD is in my constant rotation and may turn out to be my favorite Yellowcard release.  The violin playing on this album is insane! Every song is good!

3.  Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival

I've always been a fan of a few songs on each of Good Charlotte's albums.  Good Morning Revival is the first album by them that I constantly listen to all the way through.  They've successfully expanded their sound to include a dance-vibe at times and it has made the songs more enjoyable as opposed to them just repeating their signature sound.  It's unfortunate that they have become a "joke-band" to some people because those people are missing out on their best album.

2. Bayside - The Walking Wounded

I am pretty sure that my friend Coby (from the band Say Anything) and I have listened to this CD in the car almost every single day this summer.  Anthony Raneri is a lyrical genius and sings with such passion in his voice.  Every single song on this album is amazing!  It's impossible to skip a track!  Trust me and go buy it!

1. Green Day - Working Class Hero / The Simpsons Theme Song

Although I will have to wait until 2008 to hear a new album from my favorite band of all time, I am happy that Green Day released something this year to hold me over until then.  First up was a cover of John Lennon's Working Class Hero and I honestly think that Billie Joe's voice sounds more amazing on this song than on anything else Green Day have ever recorded.

This year, Green Day also released The Simpsons Theme Song for The Simpsons Movie.  Although the song is instrumental and only 1 minutes and 23 seconds, you can tell it's Green Day playing it.  The track reminds me of something off of their album Nimrod and even though there are no words, the "Hey! chant" and "dun dun dun dun" chanting in parts of it are close enough!

7 Questions With Boys Like Girls

Bryan Donahue, bassist for Boys Like Girls, took some time out of his busy schedule performing on Warped Tour to answer 7 questions submitted by Buzznet members.

Question 1:

Emily(16): I've heard that Warped is somewhat smelly and kind of dirty (which is hot!).  What is the grossest thing you have experiences so far on the tour?

Bryan
: Emily, the grossest thing i have experienced on warped is not taking a shower for several days.  i hate lines and theres always a huge one for showers.  im smelly, what about it!?

Question 2:

Kara(13): There are a lot of big bands on warped tour, whats it like meeting them and being able to work with them?

Bryan: Kara, its really cool to hang out and talk to all the bands on warped all day. new found glory, the starting line, family force 5 and red jumpsuit apparatus, have taken us in with open arms. and of course its always nice to hang out with some of your best friends all summer, like all time low, cute is what we aim for, valencia, and scenes from a movie.

Question 3:

Emily(14): Since your new hit single, the great escape, has made the TRL top ten countdown, do you think it has any effect on how you are doing on the warped tour?  Are you more nervous that you might disappoint you fans?  I LUHVE you!!!!

Bryan: Emily, since the great escape has gotten on TRL, we have all be really excited about it... i dont think it changes anything about our performance. we always have and always will try to put on the best show for our fans.

Question 4:

Catie(15): What are 3 things that are tour musts?

Bryan: Catie, three thing anybody needs on warped. meening bands or fans are: sunscreen, water, and comfy shoes.

Question 5:
Hanah(14): What is your favorite song, either by you or by any other band ?

Bryan: Hanah, my favorite song so far on warped tour is definitely earthquake by family force 5.

Question 6:

Brandy Tristao(21): If you could be Kevin Lyman for a day,w hat would you change or add to warped tour?

Bryan: Brandy, if i was in kevin lyman's shoes... i dont think i would change a thing. he does a great job year after year and he definitely knows what hes doing.  i dont.

Question 7:

Alice M(19)
: There has been quite a lot of hype around you guys lately. Being on Warped, having a climbing video on TRL, upcoming fall tour, etc. Quite a bit of people are saying that your ego's are growing out of control. How have you guys managed to stay grounded throughout all of the success you've been gaining? What would you tell all of those haters?

Bryan: Alice, even though our album and single are getting more popular, our heads have not grown. i love the fact that all of our hard work and efforts are getting some response, but anyone who says we changed or are changing personally, dont know us. we know us, and our
families and friends know us.

TV: Back in the Day: Blossom

Blossom was a 90's TV show about a young girl named Blossom Russo who lived with her musician father Nick, recovering drug addict and older brother Anthony and her other older brother/jock Joey.

On the show, Blossom mostly hung around with her best friend Six. (the non-stop talker)

The TV comedy aired on NBC from 1991-1995 and is best known for the phrase "whoa" that was constantly said by the character Joey.  Blossom's collection of unique hats were also a staple of the sitcom.

There has been no DVD release of the show as of yet.

Here is the introduction to Blossom:

Rock N Roll Therapy: Rooney

Today's Therapists - Rooney

In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Taylor from Rooney plays doctor and answers real problems from real Buzznet members.

Amberhippo: I've been having girl problems for about as long as I can remember. Its been about 4 YEARS since my last girlfriend and im really starting to get depressed. The problem is I can never get on a girls "dateable" side. They always just see me as the guy they can turn to for any advice, or they guy they can trust with their life. Its getting really ridiculous. I cant just ask a girl out because they think its creepy if they dont know me , and I cant get too close because then i get put in that same situation AGAIN! What should I freaking do??? :[

Taylor: You need a new approach towards girls. I was very much the same in High school. There is something about your character that makes girls see you as a friend type, and not someone they want to be romantic/sexual with. I think you should be more upfront about what you're looking for.
when you meet a girl that strikes your fancy, there are ways to show her that you aren't just trying to make friends. Tell her that you find her attractive. This requires self-confidence. Building confidence doesn't happen over night, it will come with experience. You said you had a girlfriend before, so I'm assuming you're not a virgin. This isn't your first barbecue, so act cool.  Be direct, flirtatious, and most of all, confident. If all of this  advice fails you, turn to alcohol. Tequila makes her clothes fall off.

Copafreak: im in a relationship with a girl i met maybe five or six months ago. it turned out she moved to north carolina because her dad wouldn't approve of me and us spending time together. I’ve felt different feelings for her and i have promised her id leave for carolina to live there myself if its what she wants to but she doesnt express anything, according to her its "hard for her to express emotions" but the first four months all i got from her was this vibe shes in love with me. its alot on the line to move and the way she acts is almost like "if it happens it happens" while ill be working all these jobs to get to her in four maybe five more months. i dont know what to do anymore, do I stay or move?...

Taylor: Do not move your whole life for a girl who is being totally standoffish.  I am not trying to minimize what you had in those first 4 months together, but "acting" like she is in love with you is a lot different from actually saying it to you. Sounds to me like you are not communicating clearly with each other. Between that and the dad issue I would move on bro. this might not be the answer you're looking for, but it sounds like the reasonable option here. By the way, the bit about the dad wanting to move away because of you strikes me as weird and probably total bullshit. I've never heard of a grown man moving his family because he wasn't into the teenage dude her daughter was seeing.  doesn't that sound fishy to you? she is probably using her dad as an excuse. Whether he approved of you or not, I think his decision to move must have more to it. Unless he is the weirdest dad of all time. Sounds like a mess...move on. sorry.

Wentzrossfan: ...My Boyfriend cheated on me.
I still love him.
I want to take him back.
I hurt so bad. But he makes everything feel better.
I'm still in love but he cheated on me what do I do?

Taylor: Tough call. You should get to the bottom of what the cheating was all about. Does he have feelings for another girl? was it a one time drunken encounter? an Asian massage parlor? Guys do weird things when they are extremely horny. If it seems like he had a stupid indiscretion and he feels bad about it, consider giving him another chance. Watch him carefully though. Some men can develop a pattern of cheating. If you can no longer trust him, you'll have to move on.

Have a personal issue? Would you like to get some advice from a musician?   Post your situation in the Rock N Roll Therapy Group.

Disturbed Talk Evolution

It's only natural for a band to evolve.  No one (well almost no one) wants a band to make a new album that sounds exactly like the album before it.

Rockers Disturbed have put out three albums since 2000 that have all been certified at least platinum.

With a fourth record on the way (no release date at this time) guitarist Don Donegan gives Metal Hammer an idea on what we can expect:

"Definitely, as far as musically, it's a lot ballsier than we've written.  There's gonna be those signature things that are us, just 'cause stylistically that's the way we perform, and David [Draiman], vocally, is always gonna sound like him, soÂ… he's got some big melodic moments, but there's some still aggressive stuff — just a lot ballsier, I think.  [We're] trying to get a good blend of the elements of the past three CDs to try to evolve into something fresh and new for us as well."

Are you looking forward to this release!?

Coldplay's Hispanic Masterpiece

Althought Coldplay are claiming that their upcoming album will have "no maracas or castanets," the band has confirmed that it does have a "Hispanic theme."

The band has sent an update from Barcerlona where they are record and Ultimate-Guitar has it for us:

"The sights, sounds and flavours of Latin America and Spain have definitely been infused on this album.  The band visited Argnentina, Chile, Brazil and Mexico earlier this year.  Chris Martin then came up with the idea of recording in Spain.  The music and lyrics have begun to reflect the strengthening Hispanic theme."

The album is due out in 2008.  Does a theme for the upcoming album intrigue you or turn you off to it?

Akon Achin' For Fall Out Boy

Were you impressed by Fall Out Boy's recent collaboration with Kayne West?

Another one may be on it's way for Fall Out Boy as rapper Akon has shown an interest in working with the group.

In a recent interview with NME, Akon reveals:

"I'd love to work with Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 and Good Charlotte would (also) be cool.  I'd love to work with Beyonce but I've never met her."

What do you think the joint track would sound like?

Should Akon and Patrick Stump sing a duet?  How about Pete Wentz busting out a freestyle rap?

HIM's Nine Songs Of Doom

Fans of the Finnish rock band HIM have less than 2 months until they have a new album in their  hands.

That album, entitled "Venus Doom," is due out on September 18th, 2007 and will contain 9 brand new songs.

Kerrang! is the first to reveal the tracklisting to the album:

01 'Venus Doom'
02 'Love In Cold Blood'
03 'Passion's Killing Floor'
04 'The Kiss Of Dawn'
05 'Sleepwalking Past Hope'
06 'Dead Lover's Lane
07 'Song Or Suicide'
08 'Bleed Well'
09 'Cyanide Sun'

With only nine songs on the album, hopefully the record as a whole will last over an hour.

It has been said that one of the new songs is between 10-11 minutes long and another is 5 and a half minutes.

Get Vegoosed With Rage Against The Machine

This year's Vegoose Festival will be held on October 27th and 28th at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium.

The line-up looks incredible.  If you live out of state, I would suggest flying in for the weekend.

According to Billboard, rockers Rage Against The Machine will be co-headling the festival with electronica act Daft Punk.

Not sold yet on the two day festival?  Did I mention that Queens Of The Stone Age, The Shins, Muse and Cypress Hill to name a few.

The variety of the artists performing is what makes the show so great!  Pick up your tickets here.

Guns N' Roses Reunion Show

Guns N' Roses continue to play shows here and there.  However, it's been many years since the original line-up performed on stage together.

This may change on July 28th 2007 as the original members of Guns N' Roses are set to perform together at the Key Club in Hollywood, California.

There is one part of the story that may upset you.  Singer Axl Rose isn't invited.

According to Ultimate-Guitar, the reunion will be in honor of the 20th anniversary of their albm Appetite For Destruction.

Will a reunion with Axl ever happen?  Drummer Steve Adler states:

"Axl and I spoke to each other in Las Vegas recently, and I know there's a chance.  It's just too big.  Whatever the Stones make when they play, we'd triple it.   It'd be ridiculous not to do it.   He can't be that goofy."

We can only hope.....

Rock N Roll Therapy: The Cab

Today's Therapists - The Cab

In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Alex from The Cab gives advice to Buzznet members that are facing some personal issues.

Alex: Life is short. I know you're worried about losing her as a friend, but if Maggie is really as incredible as you say she is...than you have to go for it. You only live once, and if she means that much to you and you DON'T do it...you'll spend the rest of your life kicking yourself for it and regretting it. You can try one of two things. 1.) Become an over night badass. I'm talking not just a badass...but a BADASS. Pimp out your ride and everything else. I'm talking chrome rims, a chrome grill, and even chrome kicks. Become an underground rapper, move to a Southern state and try to make it as a hip MC that is respected by the hip hop comunity. 2.) Though nice guys often finish last, just be yourself. Let her know how you feel and that you care. LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN. Just be there for her and let her know she can go to you. Though that may seem like a friend move...girls love a guy they feel comfortable around and guys that they can trust. If she doesn't like you for who you are..than her loss right? Goodluck man...Be who you know how to be. I'm sure you'll love you the way you are. Whether you go with this advice or not, you should still definetly become a rapper. It's on my to-do list and it DEFINETLY needs to be on yours.

Rock N Roll Therapy: Sound The Alarm

Today's Therapists - Sound The Alarm

In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Sound The Alarm listen to your problems and offer their possible solutions.

Amberhippo: I've been having girl problems for about as long as I can remember. Its been about 4 YEARS since my last girlfriend and im really starting to get depressed. Its getting really ridiculous. I cant just ask a girl out because they think its creepy if they dont know me , and I cant get too close because then i get put in that same situation AGAIN! What should I freaking do??? :[

STA: Just try putting yourself out there. The worst thing that can happen is that you can get turned down, but thankfuly the world won't come to an end. Sometimes the greatest pay offs come with the most risk, so laying it all on the line may end up paying off. And maybe it won't work out the first time, but don't give up on it. If you like a girl , tell her and let her know what's up.

Slipknot To Get Brutal

A while back masked-rockers Slipknot announced that they would make at least one more album before retiring.

Today, drummer Jordy Jordison has revealed to Kerrang! that a new album is on the way and that it will be the heaviest album they have ever recorded!

Jordison has stated:

"It's going to be heavy as fuck!  It's going to be heavier than 'Vol. 3...' but just as weird and as experimental.  We have a whole bunch of song titles, but nothing I wanna say right now."

The band will begin writing new material in October with a current plan to record in January.

"I've talked to the other guys a bunch of times over the last few months about the new album.  I've told them to demo whatever they can so we've got as much material to chose from as possible.  So be warned 2008 is going to be all about Slipknot!"

ARE YOU READY FOR NEW SLIPKNOT!?!?!

System Of A Down Is NOT Dead

When a band announces a "hiatus" it is usually just a nice way of saying that they have broken up.

This is not the case with System Of A Down who announced last year that they would be taking a long break to work on different projects.

Bassist Shavo Odadjian recently spoke up about the hiatus, as provided by antiMUSIC, stating:

"We kind of like split up at first, but you know, we're brothers, man, we'' take bullets for each other.  So it's like, you kind of miss each other after a while and you, one guy makes the first move, then another starts making phone calls....this is a juggernaut, man. System Of A Down is my lifeline.  It'll never go away.  We could not make a record for 10 years - that's no gonna happen, but I'm just saying we could - and we'll come back strong."

How long do you think it will be before the band reform and create some new material!?

Korn Karaoke

Rockers Korn might be doing the unthinkable......an album of covers!

Ultimate-Guitar reveals that the singer Jonathan Davis, guitarist Munky and bassist Fieldy have been compiling a list of covers they'd like to do.  The wish list includes songs by Prince and Ozzy Osbourne.

Davis added more about the cover album:

"We've already done, like, 'Love My Way' from Psychedelic Furs.  We've done 'We Care a Lot' from Faith No More [and Nine Inch Nails'] 'Head Like a Hole.' Those are already recorded. We just gotta get in and do some more."

There is no set release date for the covers album but since they have begun recording it, I can't image it taking too long.

What are some of your favorite cover albums?  Mine is either New Found Glory's "From The Screen To Your Stereo" or Goldfinger's "Darren's Coconut A**".

Aerosmith Show You Some Chords

Recently Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler had surgery on his throat to fix the damage to a vocal chord.

Luckily the surgery was a success! (Especially since his singing voice is incredible.)

Were you in the room when the operation took place?

If not, andPOP is reporting that the National Geographic Channel will be airing a documentary on Tyler's surgery entitled "Incredible Human Machine", complete with interviews from doctors.

The airdate for the documentary is not currently available but I am definately interested in watching this!

Bon Jovi Not Digging Mijovi

Have you heard of the coffee-energy drink Mijovi?

I haven't...but apparently singer Bon Jovi has...and he's not happt.

Jovi has asked Mijovi owner Marcos Carrington to change the name of his product because it sounds too similiar to his name.

Carrington claims that the drink is named after his girlfriend Jovita.

This would be a reasonable excuse except, according to NME, the drink marketing phrases include "itsmijovi" and "itsmilife." In case you forgot, one of Jovi's most recent hits was called "It's My Life."

At this time Carrington has agreed to cut the phrases but refuses to chage the name of his drink.

TV: Back in the Day: Lamb Chop's Play-Along

Probably most famous for the song, "The Song That Never Ends," Lamb Chop's Play-Along was a children's TV show that aired on PBS originally from 1992-1997.

The show was hosted by puppeteer Shari Lewis and her puppet animal friends.

Although Lamb Chop was the main puppet on the show, other puppets included: Baby Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse and Hush Puppy.

Charlie Horse got his own spin-off show in 1998 called Charlie Horse Music Pizza.

Here is the song from Lamb Chop's Play-Along that will stick in your head all day:

Rock N Roll Therapy: Bandcamp

Today's Therapists - Bandcamp

In our newest installment of Rock N Roll Therapy, Matt from Bandcamp plays counselor and attempts to answer real problems from real Buzznet members.

gempoot: Little did i know that my ex bf's ex is going to be my classmate for this schoolyear, to make the long story short, his ex and i [we're both girls] are now really getting along very well, in a way like we treat each other sisters and that we give each other advices whenever we have problems. a lot has noticed that we two seem close, and they often tease us for the past we have shared with our ex. [she was my ex's first gf and they got a problem and i was like this new girl in school in where he courts me, only to know that he wants to play with other girls because of what she did to him] so anyway, i am not mad for what she did before that caused me to be really depressed and months of crying. but what i am concerned now is that we both haven't really got over it yet, and her solution was to have a boy toy, i don't want to do that, but it seems to be the fastest way to move on, to have someone to at least cover up the pain. i have no plans of having a boy toy but a real bf, but i am afraid to be hurt the way i was before.

What should i do?

Matt: We've all been in your shoes before - where you've been hurt and you're afraid of it happening again. The truth is, it takes time for those feelings to go away. With every day that goes by and every new experience you're apart of, it'll become easier and you'll see how it makes you stronger and shapes who you are. There are so many guys out there for you to meet that are completely different people from your ex-boyfriend. Even though you had a bad experience and feel hurt by your relationship with him, it doesn't mean that'll be the path your other relationships take. Don't be afraid of letting someone else get to know you and don't be afraid of getting to know someone else. You'll know when you find the right fit and you won't even have to think about it.  If anything, this experience will help you realize what exactly you need from a person in order to make a relationship work and feel healthy for you. Look at it as a learning experience and think about how exciting it is to have a world of poeple in front of you to meet. You can never meet enough people!!!
