Your musicians get their eat on

Your parents always tell you not to play with your food -- but apparently some people don't listen. Some of today's best musicians have written to Buzznet to share their stories of food fights, food poisoning and even self-cake-in-the-face bashing!

The question asked - Do you have any funny food stories?

Here are the hilarious responses:

Kevin of Cartel: I was in a family living class in high school and we had a mock wedding with a church, dresses, tuxes, and a big cake. At the reception I asked my teacher if I could smash my own face into the cake. She looked at me like I was crazy and said sure. So I went up to this hugh cake, stood in front of it, and slammed my face into it. It was fantastic.

JR of Less Than Jake: A few years back I went to see New Found Glory in Worcester MA when they were on tour with Green Day. It was some big dumb arena and I was in their dressing room. For some reason they had an overabundance of fruit.Chad grabbed an orange and threw it as hard as he could against the shower stall wall. then all hell broke loose. We pretty much threw their entire rider around the dressing room and called it "fruit salad".  It was one of the funnier things that happened on a tour I wasn't actually on.

Mike of Every Avenue:When I was really young, my friends and I used to fill a giant Ziplock bag with every edible thing we could find in my house, mix it together until it smelled absolutely terrible; then one of us would go to the bathroom into the bag and we would let it sit in the hot sun all dya. After that, at night we would throw it against a random car driving by (not the windshield, that would be super dangerous!) We almost got our asses kicked a few times. We called it "The Brew."

Nick Walters of So They Say: Nope, we just usually get food poisoning from KFC. Ha. Last time we ate there our guitar tech Dane threw up jello looking substances......weird.

Danny of National Product:Yeah we have had alot of food fights on the bus recently. The latest was our tour manager verse our drummer in an epic battle of gobstoppers and nerds candies.

Do you have any funny food stories? Post them in the comments!

Five songs that changed my life with Marielal

Fan Submission

http://marielal.buzznet.com/

Fiona Apple
Paper Bag

This was the first Fiona Apple's song that I've ever liked, and it remains as one of my favorites. Fiona Apple is one of my favorite artists, and I admire not only her beautiful voice, but i also love the way she writes songs. I like the way she narrates this story about a girl who is desperately in love with this boy, and the fact the even when she loves him, he cant love her back for a reason unknown. The only thing she mentions is that she "thought he was a man, but he was just a little boy". You can relate to the pain she is feeling for not getting what she wants.

Air Traffic

Shooting Star

Another great song by a band that I love. The song is so powerful and raw, the singer voice is just beautiful and the piano adds something extra. It's just a great love song that express true emotions without being corny, it's definitely one of my favorites.

My Chemical Romance
Give 'em Hell Kid

By far, my favorite song of My Chemical Romance. I just love it from the very first moment, my favorite part is when Gerard sings "If you were here I'd never have a fear. So go on live your life. But I miss you more than I did yesterday." It shows such vulnerability, the song is about being alone and desperate from missing someone you love.

Strata
Stay Young

I like this song because it is so melancholic. It's about remembering the times when you were a little kid and you didnt worry about the future. I love erics voice, and Strata is another of my favorite bands, this song is one of my favorite of their new album. It's one of those song that makes you remember old times, that is the reason why this I like it so much.

Tori Amos
A Sorta Fairytale

Tori Amos
is one of the best modern singers, her lyrics are intricate and deep. I love the way she writes her songs, its like she is telling a story. A sorta fairytale is my favorite song from her, her voice is beautiful and the song is just amazing.

Your most memorable dream

It may have happened when you were young or as recently as last night but everyone has had that one dream that they never forget. Whether it has recurred more than a few times or only once you still remember every detail of it.

Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl said in a recent interview that his recurring dream includes none other than Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain.

Grohl
explains that in the dream Cobain has been hiding from the rest of the world and that it's amazing how real the dream seems each time he has it.

Now it's time to tell Buzznet about your most memorable dream. Don't be worried about sharing your story with us because it's only a dream -- or is it! Please post it in the comments.

Thumbs up for new Britney Spears album

After weeks of singing Britney Spears' new single Gimme More to myself, the entire album Blackout! has been released. I've been reading a bunch of reviews all over the Web. The critics seem to be loving the record and this may turn out to be the comeback everyone Breesays was hoping for. I guess I'm not the only one with Gimme More trapped in my brain!

Just take a look at some of the good things the press has been saying about Blackout!

"There is something delightfully escapist about Blackout, a perfectly serviceable dance album abundant in the kind of bouncy electro elements that buttressed her hottest hits." (''I'm a Slave 4 U,'' ''Toxic'')
 - Margeaux Watson / Entertainment Weekly

"There is plenty of hot music for dancing one's troubles away on Britney Spears' new album."
- Chuck Arnold / PEOPLE

"Blackout
, her first studio album in four years, is not only a very good album, it's her best work ever__a triumph, with not a bad song to be found on the 12 tracks."
- Nekesa Mumbi Moody / The Associated Press

"4 1/2 out of  5 stars"
- Melissa Maerz / Rolling Stone

Express Yourself: All about food

Everyone eats. I figured it would be fun to take a quick break from music and discuss food. I have created a questionnaire below that I have already answered myself. Fill it out for yourself in the comments and the most interesting responses will be featured on the homepage of Buzznet! Be sure to include your name, age and where you live. Bon Appetit!

1. Do you have any funny food stories? (Food fights?)

I remember being in middle school and whenever a bunch of us would go to the diner we would mix everything on the table into one drink and dare people to drink it. No one did but it was always funny to watch the waiters get grossed out.

2. What is the most disgusting thing you've ever eaten?

Anything with pesto on it! Pesto is grosso.

3. What is the most delicious thing you've ever eaten?

Three of my favorites are: lobster, ravioli and salad of baby lettuce. (cheese, almonds, basil)

4. What is your favorite song about food?

Weird Al - "Eat It" It's hilarious and so is the video.

5. What food do you refuse to try?

I'm afraid to try the smelt fish eggs they serve at sushi places.

6. What do you like to eat when traveling?

I love bringing a box of Goldfish in the car on long trips. (the snack -- not real fish!)

7. What type of food do you eat the most?

Cheese! String cheese, Laughing Cow cheese squares, munster cheese slices and so on.

8. Do you have any recipes you can share with us?

I just learned how to put a pizza in the oven instead of in the microwave so you probably shouldn't ask me for any recipe advice.

Fill out the questionnaire yourself in the comments below!

Rock N Roll Therapy: Drowning Pool

Do you feel like people are judging you? Does your music career seem to be going nowhere? Are you unhappy with your body image? You're not alone. In one way or another, Ryan from Drowning Pool has been in your shoes and he's here to give the Buzznet community some heartfelt advice while offering up some quick humor as well. Check out this Rock N Roll Therapy.

Mendxbrokenheartx: I feel like my parents want me to be a perfect child but I'm not. I feel like I'm always screwing up b/c their constantly yelling at me and telling me what I'm doing wrong they never tell me what I'm doing right I feel like they dont care or love me anymore the only time I ever
feel like someone cares is if I'm with my boyfriend but thats it I feel so sick I feel like I'm a puke my mind out of my brain I cant stand it much longer everyone seems to be judging me for who im not and not for who I am my parents tell me they love me but I dont believe them like the one time I think they actually care the next day I screw up again and again and again its a never ending cycle please help.

Ryan: Hope you can understand where I am coming from on this and that I in no way want to come across in a depressing manner. Being judged for what others want you to be instead of who you are doesn't ever really end.  I'm 33 and living my dream.  I travel the world doing what I always wanted to do, I take care of the people I care for through what I do, again doing what I always wanted to do, music.  Yet I can not walk into a store, meet family friends or walk down the street without getting downwards looks from people because of how I look; long haired and tatted up.  I have spent most of my life hating the reflection in the mirror until one day I just said to he** with everyone else.  At the end of the day you have to be good with yourself before ANYONE else matters.  If I took others judgments of me as the written word I couldn't breath from the weight. I think you're going through a lot of the same feelings a lot of us have about our families. I turned to music to get through a lot of these things. Channeling my frustrations through lyrics and riffs. Find something u love and focus on that, make good of it. As much as my parents and peers upset me while walking through the years I can honestly say the troubles they threw at my feet were really done out of concern and love. EVERYONE wants the best for their children, some people are just lost in their own convictions that they forget there is more than one path to travel.  Just try to discover that person in the mirror, I bet once you are comfortable with that person those around you will be as well.

Misspunk: Well, this year has been absolutely crap! On April 14th, the day after my birthday, my mom died from a heart attack... She was my best friend! After her death I was with my step-dad. Two weeks after my mom died he already looked for another chick, on the internet! I never did nothing right in his eyes, he started getting aggressive with me and threatend to hit me when I started to cry. I went to live with my awesome older brother. Then my boyfriend left my band to join his friends, which felt like a slap through the face... after about 3 weeks their lead guitarist asked me to join their band, I did... after 2 practices with themI got kicked out. Music is my life! It's the only thing I'm actually good at and then that awesome band kicked me out... When I told my boyfriend about this, the first thing he said was: "Yeah, I know. They told me."How comforting... eventually he left the band and it was all blamed on me, I'm the bitch, always... that's what it seems like. My biggest dream is to be in a band, write music and then to play it to the rest of the world, but every time I try my best to make my dream come true, I only get hurt in the end...

Ryan: I couldn't count on both hands and feet how many bands and line-up changes I've been through.  And how many of them that I felt like was "THE LINE-UP" or "THE BAND" I was going to make it with would be just about everyone of them. Ones passion for music can be the meanest, most cruel relationship one might ever be involved in. There are a lot more break ups and heart breaks than rewards.  If it is in you though, you have no choice but to keep kicking through all the BS. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom and the troubles with your step dad. Try and always remember all of that as not much could ever kick harder. You have been fed a lot of ammo for your music. Now it's just time to find the source to get it out. I had to move 5 hours away to Chicago to get my chance. Slept on the floor of a garage for 3 yrs. The trials never really end. You just learn how to use them. Take your time, don't settle and see your dreams through. My best friend told me my favorite piece of advice the other day. LIFE ISN'T EASY, PEEING IN THE SHOWER IS EASY.

emmaeclipse: This year has been the toughest experience just to make it through this far. I've had issues with my body since I was really young, this leading to myself this year becoming obessesed with it. I've been throwing up as well as skipping meals for six months- every day, and I'm starting to scare myself. I'm not proud of it, but I'm not sure I can cope with the guilt and fear that comes when I do eat. It kills me inside that I've become the very person I could never understand. Aside from this, this year I gave myself alcohol poisoning, got in a car crash, struggled to motivate myself in school- I've changed so much. I feel disconnected from everyone, I've never felt so lost. I'm eighteen, and have just graduated from high school with exams only a week away and I don't know whats next. I'm worried about never reaching my dreams, about not being able to get a job, about not making it to the career I want. I want to find myself again but everything just seems so complicated and confusing. The pressure is too much to handle and I don't know what to do.

Ryan: First of all may I say that when I see a skinny waif of a girl all I want to do is feed her a couple double cheeseburgers.  I recognize right where you are and I think a lot of your troubles stem from it. Graduation is right at you. The next step in your life is ready for you to take it. UNDERSTAND THIS!!!  YOU WILL SCREW UP!!!  YOU WILL MAKE DECISIONS THAT YOU'LL REGRET!!! YOU WILL WANT TO SPIT ON THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR!!! The cool thing is that after each and every one of these moments or trials pass we get to go on to the next one with the knowledge we gained from the last. Does this mean we won't stumble again??  Hell no.  Realize this and learn to appreciate it for what it is. I am living my dream, the only dream I have ever had.  I can not tell u how many times I have stumbled and fallen.  Get used to it and learn to channel every win and loss in life towards your wants and goals.  Get where you want to go and use every stumble as a step there. And if you don't know what you want to do DON'T WORRY. Life is a loooong strange trip. You'll get there. Head down to bull through, chin up to see through. All that said, it's okay to ask for help when you feel that you need it. No one is perfect and you don't have to go it alone. If you feel that you need professional help, the most mature thing to do is ask for it. Now go eat a cheeseburger.

Five songs that changed my life with Emmaeclipse

HIM
Resurrection

I first began listening to the band when I was a mere twelve year old and although a complete contrast to my friend's five and Backstreet Boys interest, the music and in particular, the lyrics of HIM inspired and intrigued me. the song resurrection talks of being 'slaves to this earth'; but this song for me, taught me that I need not be a slave to society and this was a huge discovery within myself; the day I aspired to be myself, even at the consequence of not fitting in.

The Spill Canvas

The Tide

I know every small detail of this song I've heard it that many times. It's one of those songs that has such a powerful meaning that it literally speaks to you. I was mesmerized after first hearing it that I can't even remember how many times i replayed it. 'live for the moment', is there any better advice for life than this?

The Scene Aesthetic
Mr. Skeleton Wings

This was played for the year twelves at our final assembly this year and it is truly such a beautiful song. As it ends, with the final 'leave me your star dust to remember you by' i was in tears. The song reminds me that with the movement that life entails for our own individual journeys, there are always so many goodbyes to be made. Its' a song made for memories. Funeral for a Friend
Straight Edge

I saw this performed live earlier this year and I was held captive by this song. It moved me and as hard as it was to deal with, it brought a little clarity on where and who I am now, more importantly it made me question, is this what I truly want? is it worth it? A song that can make you pick at pieces of your life and question everything you thought was stable, is one which I believe is more hymn like than a mere arrangement of sounds. this song actually changed my whole perspective on myself; I'm not sure if it was for the better just yet.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
The Grace

I love this song. no matter how much I listen to it, it still makes me crave that kind of love. It's so intense and inspiring; in contrast to a lot of the negative views of love expressed in music these days as well as the generic sappy annoying love related lyrics, this song has a soul like depth. It made me realize what a relationship should be, and that for that type of connection to come to me, I have to stop searching and needing for someone, and let it happen in its own time; it made me see that love should be organic.

Back in the Day: Tales from the Crypt

You may not remember Tales from the Crypt -- the horror TV series that aired on HBO and featured a different 30-minute horror story per week. However, you more than likely remember its host -- the hilarious yet terrifying corpse known as the Crypt Keeper.

The series aired for 7 years (1989-1996) and there are 93 episodes in total. Many celebrities guest starred on the show including: Brad Pitt, Iggy Pop and Demi Moore. Having been shown on cable television, the show was very gorey.

All seven seasons are available on DVD and are perfect for your Halloween party!

Five songs that changed my life with littlemissvalentine

Fan Submission

http://littlemissvalentine.buzznet.com/user/

AFI
Miss Murder

Prior to my seeing this song on MuchMusic for the first time, I had no clue who AFI was at all! But I fell in love with the song the first time I heard it, and since then AFI has been my favorite band! I still remember the exact time I heard it…it was 5:32 pm on Friday June 2, 2006…I will never forget that day!!! Since then I’ve changed a lot…I opened up my taste in music a lot…I never listened to much punk rock before that – now I’m an expert (okay, so exaggeration…but you get the point), and I used to be such a prep (ew, I know) before…now I’m just me, a total indie girl! I never listen to mindless pop songs like I used to. I’ve opened up to a lot of new things since I first discovered AFI, and so for that, Miss Murder definitely had an impact on my life!

Delays

Valentine

This was one of the first British mod bands I ever heard, and I was soooo impressed with British Indie and Mod music that it is now probably my favourite type of music! Since I discovered this song, I found so many other similar bands that have filled up my iPod…mod punk is the best music ever, and I can’t listen to Valentine without smiling!

Gosling
Mr. Skeleton Wings

This is a brilliant song written by some very talented individuals in a truly amazing indie band…the song inspired me in so many ways that I even wrote a comic story inspired by it!! Listening to this song makes any ordinary day feel like the best day ever…Halloween!! :D

Minor Threat
Straight Edge

Wow. Minor Threat is probably my favourite band to come out of the dc hardcore scene in the 80’s…and this song is so life changing for me. I became straight edge myself after hearing it…it informed me about a life style that I agreed with totally. sXe for life!!!!

Never Ending White Lights featuring Dallas Green
The Grace

This is a truly beautiful song that only Daniel Victor and Dallas Green could ever pull off. Dallas Green (who is also one of the vocalist for Alexisonfire…amazing punk band…. and his solo project City and Colour…anyone who’s into emo music probably loves City and Colour, it’s fantastic!) has a truly beautiful voice which is not always heard with his more hardcore band Alexisonfire, and the melodies are so beautiful…just a gorgeous, inspiring song.

Top ten bands of the new millennium

I'm a pop-punk guy. I listen to pop-punk music. Because of this, most of my favorite bands of the 21st century play pop-punk music. This list is strictly my opinon. It doesn't mean that everyone has to agree with me. I would love to read your own list in the comments!

DJ Rossstar's top ten bands of the new millennium

10. Cobra Starship (Formed in 2005)

Midtown made catchy songs but Cobra Starship make catchy ones with their own unique style.

9. The Hush Sound (Formed in 2004)

Their musical talent is light years ahead of the majority of artists their age.

8. Brand New (Formed in 2000)

They started off playing catchy pop-punk and went on to create a sound of their own that I enjoyed listening to just as much.

7. No One Goes Home (Formed in 2004)

They are the best unsigned band I have heard in two years.

6. Jack's Mannequin (Formed in 2004)

An incredibly talented band with an incredibly talented songwriter.

5. I Am Ghost (Formed in 2004)

Their live show is one of the best I have seen in years.

4. The Get Go (Formed in 2007)

Veterans of pop-punk acts (Mest, Showoff, Allister) have formed this super group and continue to pump out solid pop-punk tunes.

3. Say Anything (Formed in 2000)

They are leaders in the new generation of rock music.

2. Bayside (Formed in 2000)

You can feel the emotion in the music and lyrics.

1. Boys Like Girls (Formed in 2005)

Their music is the definiton of what fantastic pop rock should sound like.

Rock N Roll Therapy: Angels And Airwaves

Angels And Airwaves will be releasing their new album I-Empire on November 1st, 2007. To hold you over until then, drummer Atom Willard has stepped up to the plate to help one Buzznet member who is experiencing depression and another who is going crazy over a boy. Let's hope Atom can hit a home run with his advice. Check out this Rock N Roll Therapy.

Xvictoriaxrosex: Normally I am happy and very bubbly. I am always outdoors and am very outgoing in every aspect of life. But lately somethings happened. IDK why..... I just wanna be alone and do nothing. I don't wanna be with any of my friends. I dont wanna do any of my many sports I play. I don't wanna go to skewl. (but who does?) I don't even wanna listen to music. (which is basically my life) I have no goals to get me through life. I just dont know whats going on. I'm tired of people asking me why I am so sad. I'm not PMSing and I'm NOT emo. So I'm not doing this for attention. I'm doing the best i can to hide it from others cuz I dont want other people I know to get involved. my mom will just send me to another helpless counselor and my dad will just think I'm faking it. Once again, I'm not emo but im starting to think some really bad things. I'm just tired of life. There's nothing in my life that is specifically making me think this. idk. I'm just confused about what to do now. So if anyone thinks they can help, I'm open to all ideas. I want my old life back.

Atom: I think you’re being too hard on yourself first of all. Everyone has periods of frustration or motivation lapse, and it does not define who you are, just how you are feeling. If you are bummed about something specific, or if you feel overwhelmed by, whatever....... it could be anything, the future, the idea of committing to classes or people, work, anything......just step back. Take a look at this afternoon, you don't have to do much, just decide to do whatever, and do it........ then think about tonight. Don't even think about all the shit you may or may not have to do tomorrow, just take it slow. Another thing that always works for me is perspective. If you have a broken arm, someone out there lives every day, with something way worse......Not to say your situation isn't bad, it is........just try to remember you can overcome. you can make your world, your day, your life into what you want it to be......even if you're not sure what that is. Just go slow.

Ronarulz: Ok so here's the situation. There's this boy in my grade who I've known for about 3 and a half years when he started dating one of my best friends. They have long since broken up, but we have remained friends. We do crew together and he's great to be with. But he has the worst mood swings with me. All last year, he was apparently flirting with me that everyone noticed except for me. Now that I'm into him this year, he's distant, and then not. He may or may not be over me but there are times where it feels that we should be together. Am I going way too into this and move on or talk to him??

Atom: If you like him tell him. Guys get stoked when they don't have to guess wtf you are thinking. What do you have to lose?

Have a personal issue? Would you like to get some advice from a musician?   Post your situation in the Rock N Roll Therapy Group.

Ok so about 2 summers ago I was doing Warped Tour and my parents decided that after the San Diego Warped that they would pick me up and drag me through 8 states to then throw me on a house boat in the middle of lake powell to help me relax and this was the vacation from hell! I mean litterally it was hell our sea-do got rear ended in las vegas so me and my brothers and little sister slept in a Carls Jr. and then I guess Warped was off that day cause we all went the day befored and my little sister got to meet The Starting Line and escape the fate in the Carls Jr. so she was happy, so we trudjed onward through nevada took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in denver, got back on track and circled flagstaff like 4 times and then we got to lake powel and stayed on the water for 2 weeks in that time we went through engine problems gas and water leaks and lots of sunblock, bug spray and water, after we left we headed home and when we reached riverside county I put Almost here in the CD player and right when we pulled up my drive way exhausted and sun burned Almost Here [the song] played and all I could to was smile because I knew I was almost to my bed, house, and a shower.

Five songs that chaned my life with couturepandalovedoll

H.I.M.
The Funeral of Hearts

"Words can't describe my feelings towards this song. When I first heard it, I didn't like it. And now it's really one of the best songs I can think of. First, it's got a haunting yet somhow upbeat melody and Ville's smooth vocals couldn't hurt. It's message also hits me deep because it's saying that nothing last forever and you should celebrate things while you have them, even though the lyrics make it seem slightly emo."

The Doors
Love Street

"I don't really know. It's sort of trippy, and really the lyrics don't make too much sense. But you can sort of feel the heartache in Jim's voice when he sings the song, and I first heard it when actually watching The Doors Movie. But when you dig deeper, the song seems to be about his attraction to a rich girl he can't have. For some reason, the song just changed how I look at things."

Fall Out Boy
Sugar We're Goin Down

"Just an awesome song with an awesome music video. Love the young love vibe it has. I was really addicted to it a few years back."

New Order
Ceremony

" I first heard it on the Marie Antoinette soundtrack while watching the movie. I have no idea why, but when I listen to it I have a lot of inner and personal reflection."

My Chemical Romance
Helena

"This song's pretty deep, considering it's about G's grandma. I know a lot of people don't like MCR that much anymore, and neither do I, but you have to admit this is still an awesome song with a lot of passion put in to it."

Your bands' spooktacular stories

It's that time of year again! Whether you are trick-or-treating or attending a costume party, Halloween is a time to scare. It can also be a time to laugh. Some of today's best performers have decided to share their scariest/funniest stories from past Halloweens with Buzznet. Feel free to add to the convo by adding your own story in the comments!

Danny Casler of National Product: Yeah...I got a funny one. We were all going to dress up as chicks for Halloween and my friend Rob (not Robby in the band) dressed up and as he was walking out, his dad told him he wasn’t allowed to go out looking like a chick. He got pissed and punched a wall and he had to go the hospital as a chick because he shattered his hand. Pretty funny.

Rachel Mintz of Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer: We have a Halloween tradition that we do every year. We carve pumpkins while watching every Halloween special that we have on DVD: Garfield's Halloween Adventure, The Great Pumpkin - Charlie Brown, all of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes, etc.

Corey Warning of The Graduate: One year I worked at KMart right before Halloween. Ever had to clean up a department after a bunch of kids roll in to tear everything off the racks for 8 hours? Terrifying.

Nick Walters of So They Say: Just scaring the s**t out of kids when they come to the door, nothing too exciting. Ha.

(Kyle Driscoll - third from left)

Kyle Driscoll of The Frantic: I'd say my story fits under both categories, like a double whammy. When I was 2, my hair had a tint of red, so my mom dressed me up as Chucky.

What's your scariest Halloween story? Have a funny Halloween story? Post them in the comments!

Rock N Roll Therapy: The High Court

We all have issues to deal with. However, some people don't feel comfortable sharing their problems with family members or counselors. This is where Denny from The High Court comes in. Buzznet members have sent in their deepest concerns and Denny has given his honest opinon in return. Check out this Rock N Roll Therapy.

Risque: At school, sometimes I want to cry when I don't understand things, or if some of my best friends do something they think is funny, Iwant to punch them. At school, I just think, "I can't do this." I have never actually hurt myself, which is good. But sometimes I dig my fingernails into my arm, until it hurts. I just feel like my life isn't going the way I want it to. Sometimes, I feel like I want to yell at my friends, why? I always feel like they like my twin sister better. And boys? They too like her better. It's just not fair. I get jealous, and I don't know why. I really don't want to sound mean, but my sister is.. bigger and taller than me, and I'm a better singer..Thats it. but it's just hard..

Denny: As far as the friends go, everyone gets annoyed at their friends from time to time, and if it’s happening all the time, maybe it’s time to step back and really understand why you consider them friends. Obviously punching them isn’t the way to go, so when they do something you don’t think is funny, or are bothering you in any way, either make yourself a little more distant from them, and maybe try hanging out with a different group of people, or, if you are feeling tough, hah, just tell them why they are bothering you. If they don’t care that they are bothering you, then that just tells you how good of a friend they are.

Also, your sister may be bigger and taller, but don’t think that she doesn’t envy something about, your singing talent, or something else. If you continue singing, it will benefit you much more in the long run than being tall and big ever could. There is a whole world of people out there who appreciate people for thought and talent, rather than size or looks.

Mikeymraz44: Okay...this is so hard to tell but I need to know if I should tell someone about this...please help!! Okay....I know many of you know that my dad used to beat me, my mom and my sister over a long 14 years....and I tried to kill myself seven times....now that he's almost fully out of my life....I'm starting to be happy again...but whenever I'm happy something bad happens....now I'm starting to hear his voice everywhere (at school, in my head, at my house) and I see him in my dreams and I always think he's outside waiting to kill me...I only told one person and she said that I was scaring myself....but then I started to hear footsteps and little creaks in the floor and I don't think I'm scaring myself...I'm really scared now...I don't know what to believe anymore....Am I going crazy??

Denny: Your dad being out of your life is the first step in the right direction. If he isn’t completely out of your life, he needs to be. Any man who would physically abuse the people they supposedly love, anytime, especially for fourteen years, has no reason to have access to them physically or mentally. Hopefully once he is completely out, the voices and dreams will stop. I too have had problems with my father, not to the extent that you have, but the best thing to do is stop communication with them until you have gotten better or forgiven them (which may never happen), and to seek help in talking w/ anybody, be it a professional, a relative, or just someone who has had experience in the same sort of thing. No matter what, do not hurt yourself in any way, because it will only lead to more pain for the people who you share your pain with.

Denny: It’s a completely normal feeling to be sad and feel disconnected from the things that are around you on a daily basis, whether it's school, parents, sports, friends. It seems you are an active person to begin with, so the best thing I can suggest is taking your energy and putting it into something that will help you deal with the emotions you are feeling. If you have grown tired of the outdoors, maybe it would benefit you to take interest in more intellectually stimulating activities (writing, performing/writing music, painting). Even just something as simple as reading can help ease your mind a bit. As far as wanting your old life back, there is a chance you may not get it. But, if you are sick of your old life, there has to be a reason for it. Take the aspects you liked about the way your life was, and make something better out of it. As far as counselors, the only way your mom will stop trying that route is if you show happiness and improvement on your own, or you sit down and make her understand how you are feeling, and ask that she help in ways that aren’t counselor oriented. If dad thinks you are faking it, then he either doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to take the time to understand. However, we all know that there are a lot of people who do fake feelings like this for attention, so, this is why the most important thing is to help yourself.

Denny: You may be going way into this, but I’m not sure. Guys will usually flirt until the real ity of an actual relationship is on the table. Do you think he is confused, or do you think he was just being flirty with no real intention of being together? You should either completely move on, (which will probably mean him being flirtatious with you as soon as you are seeing someone else), Or, you can sit him down and talk to him, which may result in the two of you starting to see each other, or may make you realize that you work better as friends. No matter what happens, make sure the both of you try and keep the friendship intact, regardless of emotion towards each other. You will need each other years later when this same problem happens with someone else.

Five songs that chaned my life with dazed2793

Fan Submission

http://dazed2793.buzznet.com/user/

Pantera
Cowboys From Hell

I know, it sounds completely ridiculous, because it's probably one of the least deep songs since Crank That by Soulja Boy.  But it was what really introduced me to metal, and I fell in love with Pantera.  And then I found out that Dimebag was killed, and I cried and cried and cried.

Jimi Hendrix (Live at Woodstock)
The Star Spangled Banner

This is what inspired me to learn how to play the guitar.  It's the most absolutely incredible guitar solo I have ever heard in my entire life, and I can't help but imagine how much hard work and passion it took for Hendrix to remake such an old-fashioned song into such a masterpiece.  And he's been dead for a long time, but his art will be with us forever, as will Dimebag's.

Queen
Bohemian Rhapsody

Ahaha, this song changed my life in the weirdest ways.  It's nothing tragic or anything, but I'll never be able to hear it again without thinking of Wayne's World...still, in my opinion, this is one of the most incredible songs in the world.

David Bowie
Ziggy Stardust

This song really spoke to me, because he's talking about how Ziggy got all of the credit from his band and he let his ego get to him, and it brought him nothing but bad luck.  Incredible song...long live David Bowie.

Freddy Mercury & David Bowie

I know, I know, both Freddy Mercury and David Bowie are on this list twice.  But Under Pressure should've been at the top of the list...eh, oh well, too late now.  I was under a lot of pressure last year...I'd just gone through a breakup, my best friend decided to turn into a bitch to become 'popular', my parents were going through a financial crisis, my grades were terrible and I was nearly kicked out of my school, my grandma was in the hospital...it was a rough patch for me.  But whenever I heard this song, I knew I wasn't the only person that was going through all of the pressure, and besides, there were people out there who had it a hell of a lot worse than me.

Rock N Roll Therapy: Valencia

Are you jealous because your twin sister gets all the attention? Terrified of an abusive dad? Perhaps you are depressed but are unsure why? No one's life is perfect and we all experience tough moments. Luckily for the Buzznet members in need, Brendan from Valencia is here to offer advice and be a friend you can relate to.

Brendan: I know what you’re going through I’ve really had similar issues in school and as I was growing up, I think everyone does. However something good to do when you get down is really to just surround yourself with people who you can be yourself around and you have no reason to be jealous with, like your parents. Another thing is just to try and get out of that world and do something positive that makes you happy and not think about these people and your jealousy. Try listening to some positive music or read a book or watch a movie that you love. Look into some hobbies like writing, cooking or singing like you said. If you are a singer and you love to do that, then that should be what makes you happy and not what other people think about you or what’s going on around you.

I guess the main point here is to try and be the best person you can be. The only thing in life that really matters is how you feel about yourself and what kind of life you lead and the person that you are inside.

It is hard to think about your friends in that way, but even if its true or in your imagination, it’s just something you have to deal with. It’s great to have friends and all, but at the end of the day if they are your true friends they will surely be there for you through any of this... no matter who is the better singer or people like more.

To sum it up, I’d say talking to your friends about these things you’re feeling, trying to do some positive things to make yourself feel better, and surrounding yourself with people you love are some great ways to deal with problems like these. Everyone goes through this, so you’re not alone. So if you talk to your friends or your parents about these feelings, it might even be more of an outlet and you may find even more ways to deal with this stuff.

I hope this helps! That’s a lot to take in, but I hope you can understand the points I was trying to make and can put it to use.

Brendan: This is a very difficult problem to deal with. I’m deeply sorry that you and your family had to endure such trauma throughout your life, but I’m glad to hear that you are willing and trying to move on with your life. I’m also glad to hear that you are starting to feel happy again and your life is rid of such an awful influence. However, it seems only natural to have these feelings of fear and worry.

I think the best solution to this problem is really to tell an adult. Teachers or counselors at school are great outlets for these types of things. I don’t know much more than this small paragraph of your family life, but perhaps another family member: such as your mom, sister, aunt, uncle, or grandparent might be another good person to choose to talk about these problems. Even if it is all in your head, it would be good to get these feelings out in the open just to keep from cracking up. Also, if it isn’t in your mind and these are justifiable concerns, then these people might know a better way of controlling them and keeping you out of harms way.

In the end I would say the answer to your question is no: you are not going crazy. After such an ordeal and a life dealing with issues that you have and depression and suicide, it seems natural to feel this way. However, leaving it go and just living your life in fear is not a solution, talking to someone and making sure you are out of harms way is the best answer.

Hope this helps, I’m truly sorry to hear that someone would treat you this way and instill such fear in your head, but there is help, and it’s your job to go and get it.

(but who does?) I'm just confused about what to do now. So if anyone thinks they can help, I'm open to all ideas. I want my old life back.

Brendan: I know what you’re going through, or at least I think I do. It seems like you are depressed, from the description you have given me. It could be many things that make someone depressed, and it may be difficult for me to get to the root of the problem without more information. However, I will try my best!

One reason for your depression could just be that you’re stuck in a rut and it’s just a rough patch. Perhaps something like everything has been the same for so long and you feel down because nothing is really happening. This is something that can be easily solved by trying something new or trying to mix it up. Try a new hobby, like picking up an instrument, writing, drawing or even reading. Another thing you can do is try making some new friends, different people who could mix it up a bit.

A whole different reason way to solve depression could just be to talk about it. Perhaps your parents might not be the best people for you to confide in, but they could be a good outlet and have some great solutions (even if it is a counselor or a psychologist, that could be good and may be the thing that works this time, it’s worth a shot!). Talking to your friends about it might also be a good solution. Think of a friend who would really be open and willing to help and tell them what’s been going on, they might be able to get you some help or help you themselves by being a confidant and someone you can vent to.

Another thing you could do is try writing a journal where you can get your feelings out to yourself, just so you’re thinking about it in a different venue, rather than just inside your head. Try writing out what’s wrong and thinking of solutions to these problems, or try writing out what’s going on, just anything that’s happening, but also try and think of some optimistic things and write them out. Try thinking of positive things going on in your life or everyday to try and balance those other things out.

The main message I’m trying to convey here is that being alone is not a good solution to your problem. Telling someone and keeping yourself involved, no matter how hard it is to trudge along, is the best medicine. Just stick with the things and people you once loved and even try new things, to keep positive things in your life. Also, tell someone and try and work things out by talking, venting to a friend or family member can be a great solution.

Brendan: Well there could be several things happening here. One thing could be that you are both confused on what the other is thinking. There might be more going on than you think. It’s also possible that it’s over and you might be better off friends.

He may be getting mixed signals from you and isn’t sure of your intentions. It’s possible that he doesn’t have any idea that you are into him and he doesn’t realize that you want to be more than friends. If that’s the case, it may be just the fact that he doesn’t know whether it’s right to act more than friendly with you.

Another possibility is that he isn’t sure what he wants, he could be going back and forth in his own mind on whether or not he wants to be with you. If that’s what’s going on, he is probably showing that to you and isn’t sure what to do, she he becomes distant at times.

It’s also possible that he’s wants to be friends but when he gest too close he feels like it may end up in a romantic relationship and he doesn’t want that… so he could become distant for a time out of fear.

Any of these things are possible, or there could be other factors, it’s hard to tell with such a short glimpse into the situation. However, I think the best solution would be to confront him and tell him your feelings, but leave it open ended. See what he’s feeling and tell him how you’ve gotten mixed feelings, but don’t reveal your intentions until you hear his end of it first. See what comes out of the conversation and judge what you want to say about it. Or you could lay it all out on the table and tell him that you want to get together and see what he says… but be cautious in case he doesn’t feel the same way, in order to salvage a friendship.

Top ten bands from Washington

Head to the Northwest part of the United States and you will hit Washington. Home to the TV show Grey's Anatomy and The Space Needle, the state put itself on the musical map in the 90s with the grunge movement in Seattle. It's now 2007 and today's best rock bands are still popping up all across the state and into your eardrums. Here are my top ten favorite bands from Washington.

7. The President Of The Unites States of America

Five songs that chaned my life with escapethefatelvr

Fan Submission

http://escapethefatelvr.buzznet.com/user/

Yellowcard
Only One

I am in love. This song literally makes my heart get the weirdest sensation when I think of him. I instantly learned it on my guitar and played it for him. Even in fights, the song just sings my feelings. I love all their love songs, but that one is just so beyond anything I've heard.

Escape The Fate
Not Good Enough for Truth or Cliche

This song got me in love with this band. They're my favorite band ever, in just 2 days. I have become obsessed. Because this song grabbed my attention. I feel so good listening to them.

Bullet For My Valentine
All These Things I Hate

This song is always played when I'm mad. At myself, the world... this song always fits. And it's nice to have music to go along with my furious moods.

Jimmy Eat World
Kill

It's great music to build my confidance... when I'm nervous about anything because I always feel like a nervous looser. But the lyrics made me see something. It sings about things just being the way they are and that's maybe just how it's supposed to be. Even if my nervousness screws everything up what if that's how it's going to make something that was supposed to happen, happen? The song is so like me. It's so easy to relate and sometimes I just cry to it.

Avenged Sevenfold
Seize the Day

When I have hard times and I just want something to be a certain way, and everything is keeping it from happening, I feel so stuck. But this song reminds me I only have so much time here. I can just push through the obsticals so I don't sit around waiting for my life to be put into place... "the time you lost is empty and gone."

Buzznet invades 'Celebrity Rap Superstar' headquarters

The finale of MTV's Celebrity Rap Superstar has commenced and I have captured some of the behind-the-scenes action in the green room.

After a few hours of eating free snacks and watching Naughty By Nature perform "Hip Hop Hooray" around 4 times it was finally time to talk to some of the contestants.

First up was Jason Wahler from Laguna Beach / The Hills. We talked about his immediate elimation from the first week's show and all about his rapping past. (I wonder if that's how he scored Lauren Conrad?)

Shar Jackson was a ton of fun. We talked about a possible future for her in the rap world and discussed all the great people she got to work with while appearing on Superstar. She was very enthusiastic and I am glad she came out as the winner of the show!

Countess Vaughn was a good interview and is very greatful for all the fans that helped vote for her during the show (she thanked them numerous times during the interview.) After having left the show due to illness, she was more than excited to be back to support both Kendra and Shar.

Last up was everyone's favorite Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson. She was filled with energy, talking about the new friends she made from the show and the songs MTV wouldn't allow her to perform.  Kendra was nice enough to leave us with an on the spot Buzznet rap!!

Don't worry kids....The video interviews are coming very soon!!!! Check back on my page.

Your gateway musicians

Aerosmith was the first band that made me fall in love with music. From the lyrics to the melodies I was hooked and went on to research any and every other rock band I could find. These Buzznet members filled out my new questionnaire and let me know the band (or bands) that got them into music. I want to know yours too. Post your response in the comments.

Rockindreamz - Metallica. My brother is a huge fan and when i was just a kid, he blast it in his room. He got me into the rock scene.
Sasha, 20, Folsom CA

Sugarpog - Well, I've always been into music, but the bands that really got me into it were Metallica, Led Zepplin, The Beatles, and Linkin Park.
Megan, 16, Tennessee

Kassady - That really, really got me listening? Although ive just found out that the song was first realeased in 1979 (way before my time) it was Dinosaur Jr and the song was Freakscene.
Kass, MK,UK

Xoxmrswentzxox - Fall Out Boy. I first heard it, and was like 'This song annoys me', and then I started to like it, and it all stemmed from that. It took me three months to learn every song, and all the dudes in the band. So yes, I listen to FOB because of the music, not just the dudes.
Charlotte, 15, PA

Sas101 - Queen - my mum was the hugest fan and use to play them ALL the time, it rubbed off.
Sas, 20, Wellywood NZ

Brandynicole - Fleetwood Mac. My parents are both big fans of them so I grew up listening to it & I was alwasy drawn to Stevie Nicks' hypnotic voice.
BrandyNicole, 19, Fredericksburg VA

Marcialima- Beatles, a necessary cliche.
Marcia Lima, 22, POA, Brazil

Djscribbles - It wasn't a band, my mom played Madonna for me when I was an infant.
Christ'l de Guia, 14, San Jose, CA

Amandalovelyxx - Unfortunatly it was Fall Out Boy but that was like 2 or 3 years ago. im anti-Fall Out Boy now.
Amanda, 14, burlingame CA

Hillabeans - Green Day. Hands down. Before I found them I didn't understand why people loved music so much, and now I know.
Hillary, 16, Sacramento, CA

Five songs that changed my life with Misskayslay

My Chemical Romance
Famous Last Words

It all started when i was in a relationship, and it fell apart. I'm alone right now, and I'm happy about it. It wasn't something that anybody did, and it wasn't anybody's fault. One day i just found myself lying on my bed, watching the video, and listening to the chorus line of "Famous Last Words." I realized that the line "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone" defined me. It was the truth. I broke up with him a week later. It was sad, and even hard at first, but I knew it had to happen. I've been enjoying myself even better than i had before. It's definitly a good feeling. It's kinda funny how a simple line in a song can define you completely, and change your life for the better. I didn't really like him..I was in love with someone else, and I honestly think he knew.

Decembers Waiting
The Good Friends

This was a song that my best friend wrote. You can check it out here. It makes me cry everytime. We were both victims. I broke his heart, and he broke mine. I loved him so much, but i made a dumb mistake out of sheer self-esteem issues, and lost his friendship. I went out with another guy, and he went out with someone else as well. We hurt eachother, and now, we're both still suffering from it. I don't think there is a way to patch this up, but I pray everyday that we'll put aside our past issues and finally be together. But that's only a dream..not a reality.

Decembers Waiting
Candy Hearts (cover)

Another song by my best friend. you can listen to it here. He's so talented. I miss him alot.

The Beatles
Otherside

It made me look at the world in which we live in, in a whole new perspective. The line "..nothing's gonna change my world". Is really sad, cause our world is changing, relationships are ending, new ones are beginning, and the only thing we can depend on is ourselves.

Fiest
1234

I first heard it when my friends told me about it. It really makes you think.

Submit your list to the Five Songs That Changed My Life Group.

Rock N Roll Therapy: Nightmare Of You

Are you faced with a tough decision? That cute guy in your class is trying to cheat on his girlfriend with you. You are trying to warn you fifteen year old friend about getting married too early. No need to fear. Joe from Nightmare Of You is here -- with some meaningful advice. Check out this Rock N Roll Therapy.

Thegrowupkid: My month has pretty much crashed and burned. I recently found out that my friend's mother, who practically raised me, has lung cancer. They live in Long Island while I'm stuck in Jersey. I feel so out of place here. I would give anything to just drop everything to be with
her. Unfortunately, college is my top priority, but this is just making me stress out more. I don't know what I should do and my brain keeps thinking about how I'd drop everything if she died to go be with my second family. I don't want to think like that but I can't help it. How can I cope and hope that she doesn't die?

Joe: I know exactly how you feel having been in a very similar situation before.  I am sorry to hear about your friends mom and the difficult time you are going through.  It has almost become rare in this day and age to not know someone effected by cancer.  I have lost a couple of family members to cancer and have many friends who have lost loved ones as well.  I think in your situation it will help you to tell your friends mom how you are feeling and that you want to be there for her.   If you can communicate that you are having a hard time being at school while your heart and mind are feeling for her, I think it will help you cope.  Chances are your friends mom will really appreciate you telling her how much she means to you and in return she will hopefully help you understand that although you are at school in NJ you are in her heart.  Help her to fight the cancer by letting her know you are cheering her on. The thought of  losing someone you love is something that I don't think ever gets easier.  If you find yourself continuing to have a very difficult time I would suggest looking into someone to talk to at your school.  When I was in college I went through some hard times and was very fortunate to be able to speak to with a counselor who was able to help me come to terms with my problem.  In most cases talking to someone will help you feel at least a little better.  I wish you and your friends mom the best.  Call her and tell her you love her.

Asboxlovesyou:  Well there's this guy in my theater class (and three of my other classes in a row) and he's got a girlfriend. (they've been dating for a year+) Well one day we were in the library and the librarian was giving us a welcome presentation and he started to reach over for my hand and he grabbed it. Then I found out he had a girlfriend of one year! I knew it was wrong and I confronted him about it and he didn't do it again..for around 2 weeks. I confronted yet again about it. He said it would stop seriously but a few days ago we were watching a movie (in theater) with the lights out and he tries to feel me up. I have no idea what to do because I don't even like this guy and he's practically cheating on his girlfriend. Which is seriously bad. HELP PLEASE?!

Joe: Well first of all if this guy is touching you against your will that is completely unacceptable. Flirting or trying to hold your hand is one thing but it sounds like it has gotten inappropriate and borderline sexual harassment.  Tell that dude to chill out unless he wants you to tell the teacher that the creep is harassing you.  I would also suggest not sitting next to him.  It's hard to feel someone up from across the room ;)

Juliannelawlz: I have a best friend who has a boyfriend that's a junior. Back in August (only a month after dating), my friend told me that her boyfriend proposed to her. She laughed about it and was like 'Im only 14, of course I didn't say yes!' I recently found out that she infact said YES and I confronted her about it. Now they're planning their WEDDING and stuff like 'we're going to have two beautiful babies!' and I'm like DUDE, get a hold of yourself, you're FIFTEEN. and she won't listen to me at all about it and she's like 'it's different! i swear we're in love!' I'm trying to get through her head that she's a freaking freshman in high school. and she just keeps saying that they're going to last and make it. that they're in true love and nothing is going to stop them and
gaaaaah I get so pissed off about it. How can i get through her thick skull that she will
NOT be getting married to someone that she met in her freshman year of high school?

Joe: Ahh young puppy love.  I agree with you that the idea of marriage at age 14 is ridiculous.  Cute but ridiculous.  Obviously they are both excited to feel loved and in love and are fantasizing about how great life could be if that feeling can last.  Don't even get me started on love right now or you are going to get a very dark perspective on sh*t.  I will spare you from the roller coaster ride of drama that has been the last decade or so of my life.  I think you are going to have to let your friend learn this lesson for herself.  I know it can be frustrating to see something so clearly right in front of your face and have to watch your friend make the mistake anyway.  Sometimes that is the only way for people to learn though.  Right now the situation sounds pretty harmless and will most likely end with an awakening sense of reality after the fairy dust wears off.  Just make sure they don't start talking about babies.  If there is talk of babies then it is time to intervene

Moore15
: Well.... theres this guy at my school who I totally have a huge crush on and I dont know what to do.. I've talked to him and stuff. and well I dont know if I should take it to the next level or what.. I dont even know know how to ...heh.. I mean I'm really shy.. and he's kinda
shy too.. I need some advice.. do I just tell him I like him or what??? WHAT SOULD I DO??????? I dont wanna come off weird or retarded.. and I dont want him to be freaked out either..I just need some plain old help...

Joe: I think that you should just make it obvious to him that you are into him and see how he reacts.  Do you have his phone number?  Send him some playful texts and see if he plays back?  As long as you don't make him feel uncomfortable or awkward it shouldn't be too hard to throw it out there and see if he throws it back.  It's not like you have to tackle the guy to the ground and profess your love for him.   I would say be casual and just have fun with it.  Good luck!

Have a personal issue? Would you like to get some advice from a musician?   Post your situation in the Rock N Roll Therapy Group.

Back in the Day: Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs was a TV sitcom that people of all different ages could enjoy. The show was a parody of our lifestyle at the time (1991-1994). The only difference was that it took place in 60,000,003 BC and the characters were talking dinosaurs.

The Sinclair family was the center of the show and included father Earl, mother Fran, son Robbie, daughter Charlene, grandmother Ethyl and probably the most popular member -- Baby.

Baby became a favorite due to his catch phrase "Not the mama!" and his habit of hitting his father over the head with a frying pan.

Although fun to watch, Dinosaurs dealt with serious topics like censorship, sexual harrassment and steroid use.

Five songs that changed my life with triinu

Fan Submission

http://triinu.buzznet.com/user/

Placebo
Every You Every Me

Hearing this song for the first time was the turning point of my life, after that everything, and I mean everything, changed – for good. Placebo has given me so much, I can’t imagine what I’d be like without them. Probably the old depressed pessimistic world-hating me, and I did not like to be that Triinu. It was horrible. Placebo.. Placebo, well, they make me feel good about myself, accept myself the way I am. They give me so much energy and strength to go on, they are like a battery charger for me. When I say that this band means the world to me, I fucking mean it. If you ever want to make me feel miserable and hurt me, here are the tips to do so: talk shit about Placebo, and bam – I’m feeling down. I understand that everyone doesn’t have to like Placebo, but you don’t have to hate them either, or if you really have to – then just stop talking shit about them to me.

Juliette & the Licks
I Am My Father’s Daughter

Can we say that Juliette is a little bit too talented? I love every single line of this song, every word of it. I am my father’s daughter, you’ll never break me down.

Garbage
Only Happy When It Rains

I started loving this song when I really was only happy when it rained. I know I’m actually more talking about the bands not the songs, but Garbage is one of my most favourite bands, and their lyrics are always amazing. I love every song of theirs, and this one isn’t my favourite but it has changed my life more than the rest of their songs.

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Otherside

Brings back so many memories, good and bad. There are so many reasons as to why I love this song, and it has changed my life, probably more than all the other songs on this list all together.. It kind of has been the ’background music’ for the situations that have changed my life radically.

Metallica
Yes Without A Face

Metallica, oh how I love Metallica. This song just gives me strength, it kind of makes me angry sometimes, but angry is good. Anger gives me willpower to do things I actually don’t want to do or am afraid to do. Metallica has taught me not to give a shit about every little thing that doesn’t really matter at all.. "Now everybody repeat after me: we don’t give a shit!" we really don’t James :)

Rock N Roll Therapy: Four Letter Lie

Kevin Scaff, guitarist for Four Letter Lie, has a thing or two to say about anxiety, jail, flirting and agrophobia. Hopefully he can help our fellow Buzznet members get out of their sticky situations. Check out this Rock N Roll Therapy.

Kevin: I think he either doesnt know what he wants quite yet. OR he's being weird to get your attention. Mood swings are probably because you said something he didnt want to hear, probably because you didn't realize he was trying to flirt with you. See where he's at. Ask him about the both of you.

Mikeymraz44: Okay...this is so hard to tell but i need to know if i should tell someone about this...please help!! Okay....I know many of you know that my dad used to beat me, my mom and my sister over a long 14 years....and I tried to kill myself seven times....now that he's almost fully out of my life....I'm starting to be happy again...but whenever I'm happy something bad happens....now I'm starting to hear his voice everywhere (at school, in my head, at my house) and I see him in my dreams and I always think he's outside waiting to kill me...I only told one person and she said that I was scaring myself....but then I started to hear footstpes and little creaks in the floor and I don't think i'm scaring myself...I'm really scared now...I don't know what to believe anymore....Am I goin crazy??

Kevin: It definitely sounds like you have massive anxiety/depression. I know because I have it, just not to that degree. The best thing to do would definitely be seek professional help. Therapy and medications. Bring a friend with you to be your backer because it isn't easy going through the motions of getting professional help.

Xvictoriaxrosex: Normally I am happy and very bubbly. I am always outdoors and am very outgoing in avery aspect of life. but lately somethings happened. Idk why..... I just wanna be alone and do nothing. I dont wanna be with any of my friends. I dont wanna do any of my many sports I play. I dont wanna go to skewl. (but who does?) I dont even wanna listen to music. (which is basically my life) I have no goals to get me through life. I just dont kno whats going on. im tired of people asking me why I am so sad. im not PMSing and I'm NOT emo. So I'm not doing this for attention. I'm doing the best I can to hide it from others cuz I dont want other people i kno to get involved. My mom will just send me to another helpless counselor and my dad will just think im faking it. Once again, I'm not emo but im starting to think some really bad things. I'm just tired of life. There's nothing in my life that is specifically makeing me think this. idk. im just confused about what to do now. So if anone thinks they can help, I'm open to all ideas. I want my old life back.

Kevin: If you are scared to go out and about and do things you could possibly have Agrophobia which is a fear of leaving the house. Or you could just be stuck in a funk that you feel you can't get out of. The best thing to do would be make yourself get out and do something. Try to show yourself that you are missing out on the world so that you will have the desire to get out and do things again. Trust me we have all been in a place where we just want to do nothing. But time keeps ticking. You just have to use it to your advantage.

Laurenscorzafava
: There is this girl in my school who is stalking me. She is a lesbian, which doesn't bother me but that's basically why everyone in my school hates her, but I was nice to her and it started with her talking to me about music, then turned to her telling me how she drinks her blood. She calls my house all the time, and is just insane. The other day she pushed me against my locker and pushed herself against me and I was like crying, cause you basically don't do that to me or I flip the fuck out. The school won't do anything about it 'because she's a girl it's not sexual harrassment.' And I'm afraid to tell her off because she brings knives to school and is already .2 seconds from killing everyone in the building. Help me?

Kevin: Your school sucks. If they won't do anything about it get the police involved. There is no sense in trying to solve a problem like this on your own because it puts you in danger. Drinking blood, scary phone calls, and harrassment are all good reasons to bring it to the authorities. Plus she's a lesbian. She might like it better in jail?

Have a personal issue? Would you like to get some advice from a musician?   Post your situation in the Rock N Roll Therapy Group

The Used
The Taste Of Ink

This song has meant the world to me since I first heard it, I love what it says to me. Alot of bands have made songs about being a kid and living with tough stuff and just trying to get through them and still have fun and like just being rebels and all that and i think this song nails that concept and I guess it really gives me alot of strength with what i go through and it makes somethings alot better for me.

U2
Sunday Bloody Sunday

This song will always be one of my favorites, it really opened my eyes to alot of things.

Black Sabbath
Paranoid

Lol I had to include this song cause it really dose say alot, to me at least and it really made me love Black Sabbath, and druggie musicians can still write good songs lol classic songs like this never get old.

Smashing Pumpkins
Tonight, Tonight

(Easily the first insight into large production rock music...and how good videos can be...
still my favourite band ever...I really think they had a flawless 10 years...though the
reformed Pumpkins I'm not sure on...)

Jeff Buckley
Mojo Pin

(Introduced me to Tim Buckley, The Smiths...and some how Black Sabbath! vocally easily one of my faves and it's a pretty messed up song...which went hand in hand with my life at that time...so underrated and  his lyrics are wicked!)

My Bloody Valentine
Feed Me Your Kiss

(Showed me that repetition is sometimes a good thing!...people think "Loveless" is their
best album but "Isn't anything" from which this is taken is easily better..."Yeah, can you
get what you see but you can't have what you can't" also really underrated for how good
the lyrics are.)

The Waterboys
Hole Of The Moon

(Probably the first song i ever loved...not sure it holds up that well now...but it got me into music
everything about this song...still takes me back to knight rider and being blonde! woot!)

Mission of Burma
Academy Fight Song

(Post - Punk?? technically yes...well to me these guys were my Joy Division...though the
JD are great...MOB got my into punk music...and it wasn't all that long ago I discovered these guys...but what a find! led me to Fugazi and whole heap of amazing bands.)

Green Day
Jesus Of Suburbia

This is the song that brought me into the rock scene. After I listened to this song, I knew this was one awesome band and it led me into listening to the entire American Idiot album, which I loved. Green Day was (basically) my first favorite band and I still love them.

Fall Out Boy
Dance, Dance

There was a time when I thought Fall Out Boy was just a band that middle school kids listened to and had wet dreams about. When I heard this song on the radio (ironically, on the way home from picking up my cousin at middle school) the lyrics stuck out to me. They were unique, unlike anything I had heard. This song and band is one of the reasons I first picked up a guitar.

My Chemical Romance
Helena

MCR was yet another band I wasn't too fond of. Yet one day, I heard this song. I tried to ignore it but I couldn't deny the fact that it seemed like the theme song to my life at that point. The beginning of my senior year in high school was when I first heard it and it stuck with me.

Taking Back Sunday
MakeDamnSure

I wouldn't quite say this one changed my life, but it's one of the very very few songs that, everytime I hear it, I'm drawn back to the first time I heard. Summer 2006 was a great summer for me and this just encapsulates all the emotions I felt that year.

My Chemical Romance
Welcome To The Black Parade

Choosing this one was hard, but with the inclusion of this and the other songs on this list, you have who I am today. Not just the lyrics, but the music helped shape who I am today. It also influenced my way of thinking and even the people I met. Kudos to these songs.

Rock N Roll Therapy: Senses Fail

Mike Glita, bassist of the screamo-act Senses Fail, goes above and beyond the call of duty to help Buzznet members that are going through personal troubles. Glita pulls deep into his past to try and inspire people to think positively. It's good to know someone in a successful band can feel the same way as you do about dating, school and dependency. Check out this Rock N Roll Therapy.

Dragon21: First off, college sucks; I hate school period. And I can't even get a date - apparently I'm too hostile, unapproachable and intimidating... I'm not even sure how that could be! Secondly, I've been thinking about my future, and all I see is music; I have absolutely no clue how to go about getting to it or starting, but that's all I wanna do...

Please, help me????

Mike: School is not something for everyone, and surely most people don't really enjoy the CLASSES as much as the atmosphere. In all reality, that's what college really is though, and should be, the next step in your life to becoming more independent. Don't flunk school, but unless you're planning on being a doctor/lawyer or going on to grad school, in the end of the day most jobs won't even ask what your gpa was, just the fact that you graduated and your experience is enough.

Now as far as dating goes, most people actually start to really "find" themselves in college. Think about the things that these people are telling you. If they're you're close friends, and people whose opinions you will honor don't hesitate to ask them just HOW you are hostile, intimidating etc. Maybe proving those people wrong is something you need to do? First impressions are usually the ones that last. Also, if there are girls you're interested in (or guys if you're a girl), maybe you need to muster up some courage and make the effort to say something to them.

Lastly, regarding music. The best thing you can do is put things into perspective. Do you play instruments/an instrument? Can you write songs? Do you feel they're good songs? If so, ask some friends what they think. If you don't have musical talent, but love music, then start thinking of alternate routes. Start looking for internships in the music business while at school. The options are really endless, it's just how bad you want it.

Smokingsaves: I'm usually a very postive, opptimistic person (at least, I TRY to be...) but lately it just hasn't been working out for me. See, I'm very dependant on other people, my boyfriend in particular, and he works in Indiana and only comes back on the weekends. At first I was upset and cried myself to sleep at night. It got better because he'd come back every weekend. Friday was the last time he'd come back in over a month. Nights have steadily gotten worse since he's been gone. I thought i was doing well but now I see otherwise. I'm drinking and smoking ALOT more than I did before he left. I'm also realizing it's not such a good idea to trust everyone. I feel like I'm becoming some bitter hermit that wishes to have no contact with the outside world. HELP ME!!

Mike: Being dependant on others is your first flaw right there. But it's not something you can't fix or work at. As you grow older you begin to realize that yes, there are some GREAT people in this world, but more times than not, there are some really HORRIBLE people as well. The last thing you want to do is rely on others. What you should do is take things a day at a time, and a step at a time. First of all, the best thing anyone can really do (I learned this in psychology), is to sometimes realize how much worse people have things than yourself. First off, start by taking small things that you know you can do well yourself and don't need other peoples help with. Then work your way up. Start tackling bigger things slowly until you feel like you're really gaining control of your life. Lastly, as I said, always keep in the back of your mind that it's not the end of the world.

Kerstieatworld: This is a bit awkward, so I'm hoping that none of my friends/people I know read this. anyway.

Like most teenagers, you get to a point where you start to wonder what sexuality you are. Hetro-, bi- or homo-sexual. The thing is, I don't feel like I'm neither. It's hard to explain, and please don't laugh at me. I like boys, in the way that I'm attracted to them. But as soon as it gets below the waist, I'm completely turned off. And as for girls, I'm not attracted to them (in the same way as to boys) except below the waist. I feel so fucked up. No pun intended. But seriously, what would you call that? Half-bi?

Mike:
Well the first question would possibly be what age you are. How much have you really experienced with a boy and or a girl? Could your fears of boys maybe be more of just being scared of a penis in general or what it does in a sense if that does make sense? As far as girls go, you're saying that you don't find girls attractive, but do like the vagina itself? As I said yet again, this also could lead me to believe that maybe some how you may have a phobia of the penis itself? I guess all I can say is, just think it out, and maybe if it's possible, since you may not want to tell your friends, try talking to some kind of counselor or therapist who may be able to give you some further advice. Or maybe you're just going through a phase. But don't be embarrassed, because we're all different in our own ways, you're just trying to find who you are.

Windstone: So here's the setting, I loved a guy who was "bad" for me. He was 7 years older, living 2 states away and a ladies man. I was obsessed over him for around 15 months, maybe even more. we said that we loved each other and stuff, but it was as friends on his part. I knew this and the whole time I tried convincing myself that it was true. That he didnt like me. Finally 3 days ago I did it. Then I talked to him.. I am regreting doing it. My mind is empty. I can not concentrate on anything. I talk even less then I did before now (which wasnt very much before this) and I have become insanely lonely. Im afriad that this was a bad move for me. Because I really started thinking about doing stupid crap after I stopped. (harming myself, dieing, doing drugs, ect) Any advise to help?

Mike: The bottom line is this, age shouldn't matter SO much, but in most cases when you're a 16 year old, or an 18 year old and you're dating a guy who is 23 or 25 etc, their intentions aren't usually because they "love" you. Most likely he's toying with your thoughts, and using you, knowing that you're much younger than him and will probably bow to his every command. Trust me when I say this, I haven't met the dude and I already know you should stop talking to him. There will most likely be way more fish in the sea as they say, and I think you're just experiencing the typical "heartbreak" that comes with teenage years (and if you're not a teen, well I'm sorry). Try dating someone closer to your age, don't rush into something because a guy is cute or trys to sweep you off your feet with corny pick up lines. Think about guys that you're maybe friends with, chances are that one of them has always liked you but you've always given him the friend card.

Back in the Day: Goosebumps

In 1995, every child's favorite horror book series became a television show.

Goosebumps aired on FOX Kids in the USA and YTV in Canada. Many of the 30 minute episodes were adaptations of Goosebumps books including Night Of The Living Dummy and there were 74 episodes in total.

The show's name was changed to The Ultimate Goosebumps during the third season. The show was cancelled in 1998 but many of the episodes are still available on VHS and DVD.

Break out the old Goosebumps books this Halloween and see if you still get scared!

Five songs that changed my life with Grimviolins

Fan Submission

http://grimviolins.buzznet.com/user/

Hanson
MMMBop

Yes, I know..ew. Somebody mentioned this song already, but it is by far the most significant song on my life. Even though I hate now (but so does Hanson themselves). Before I knew who Hanson was, I was all about Spice Girls and the Macerana.. oh and Ace of Base..I think I liked music more than most 11 year olds.. I mean, I could name who the artists were for every song on the radio at that time.. (Anyone else remember who Donna Lewis or Lisa Loeb is? I did when I was 11..) But then came Hanson.. Oh did I hate them the first time I heard them.. My best friend at the time played the tape (yes.. TAPE) while we were playing Barbies one day and she was all "omg listen to this!!" I thought the lead singer (poor Taylor) sounded like Michael Jackson.. Never a girl.. always M.J... It wasn't until 6 months later that I REALLY started to like them. I mean, I didn't just care that the song was catchy or whatever. But I listened to every single fricken song on that cd and RELATED to the meanings or at least came to the stunning realization at that point in time that songs actually had meanings behind them (Mmmbop is actually kind of deep, don't hate). That was.. 10 years ago. And I'm still a huge Fanson (that's Hanson fan, for those who don't catch on quickly) I'd never be going to school for music business if it weren't for them.

Sum 41
Fat Lip

The first time I heard this song.. I really wasn't that into rock.. I was in what would be nearing the end of my uber pop phase (I worshiped BSB, Nsync, etc.) The only reason I heard this song, was because I would tune into MTV obsessively to catch even a glimpse of Justin or Nick.. interview on TRL, Making the Video, concert special, etc etc. (Seriously, I have video tapes still, where I recorded all this crap..) Then one day, all of sudden this friggen song comes on.. I had never liked anything (or really heard) remotely relating to punk.. mainly cos I listened primarily to the only pop radio station we had here and they played the hell out of pop. But somehow, I became obsessssssed with this song. I bought the cd probably about 5 days after I heard the song.. My mom was NOT too happy that I had gone from liking mom friendly Nsync to liking this crazy guys jumping around and doing gross things in videos..(Oh, and I thought Cone was soooo hot).

HIM
Heartache Every Moment

I have no idea where I found out about HIM... It wasn't really directly from watching Bam though. Because for the longest time I thought the heartagram was his symbol (I know, stupid). But then online when I was kinda navigating through music related websites that kinda involved music I had started to like following my introduction to Good Charlotte and other related music, HIM kept coming up.. EVERYWHERE I went. People talked about HIM, obsessing over this guy named Ville. I had no idea. Finally I gave in and went poking around on Limewire for them. I found TWO songs on Limewire at this time... only TWO. Seriously. They were "Heartbreak Every Moment" and "Please Don't Let It Go". I threw them on one of the many many mix cds I made around that time and kinda forgot about it. One day, I was poking through my cds and there was this song.. It was "Heartache" It rocked my socks. I loved it.. love love LOVED it. So began another obession.. oh, this was around the time Hot Topic opened in my hometown. And everytime I'd go in there i'd here people go "oh, look, it's Bam stuff" seeing the heartagram, and I'd go and chew them out. Now they're one of my favorite bands (along side Hanson.. FYI, I seriously dislike Good Charlotte now.. lol)

Brakelazy
You Kill Me

I hate these guys. Jk. Brakelazy is a band who I went to high school with. I lived in a smaller "city" in north dakota.. there's really not a lot come by for actual bands, especially considering this is before the DIY-Myspace era where everyone and their dad has a band. So one night my freshman year of HS, me and my best friend went out to a school sponsored dance. Half the night the spent playing Nsync and Britney Spears, the other half.. it was a battle of the bands. I had NEVER seen a band play live in front of me before. NEEEEEEVER. (It wasn't until after this year I saw my first actual concert.. Christina Aguilera.. yeah lol) This was one of the songs they played. I was so fascinated by them. (The other bands sucked..) After that, I think I was probably their biggest fan. My friend and I went to every show they played, knew every word of every song they put on their cds, etc. It was kinda funny, cos they were like "popular" guys in my high school.. I was not popular by any means. But I basically acted like they were friggen Hanson or something. Years and years later.. They moved to Minneapolis, MN.. a year later I moved out here as well. We ended up working together a few times, and we're kinda buddies. (If you told me, when I was 15, that the lead singer of Brakelazy would run up to me and hug me after an Ok Go concert, I would have laughed in your face.) Anyways, because of them, I realized that MTV doesn't hold the only talent in the world. That there are great bands with a self made cd and 15 fans in the most remote parts of the world. I started giving every band (no matter how well known they were) a chance after I got into Brakelazy..oh, It was at a Brakelazy show that I first ever heard the song "Motivation Proclamation".. No idea who Good Charlotte was at the time, but that's how I kinda started down my current musical taste path.. after I figured out who really sang that song...

My Chemical Romance
Helena

Oh did I hate MCR when they first came out. I thought they were loud and annoying.. That song "I'm Not Okay" pissed me off to no end. Mainly because I knew people who basically faked being suicidal then bragged about it for attention, and to me that song..AT THAT TIME (not anymore) was just like..."boo life sucks I want attention" and gave those kids above a theme song to sing. So I hated MCR because of it.. How I got into Helena though.. I liked the video. It was really kinda weird and made in this kinda dark style that I really like. I thought the video was just awesome. So I would watch it over and over.. eventually I started liking the song, a lot. It made me mad that I liked it. But I started pretty much only liking that song by them.. then somehow really slowly I started liking "To The End".. I still didn't really like "I'm Not Okay".. until my friend burned me the cd and I started listening to it obsessively.. Because of them, I started liking kind of "darker emoish whatever you call it" music. I'd hate Aiden (one of my favorite bands) if Helena hadn't grown on them.

Rock N Roll Therapy: Orange

Joe Dexter of the pop-punk band Orange may only be 19, but he has learned a lot about life. He has toured the USA and has lived in both Los Angeles and England. Dexter offers up his best teenage advice on serious subjects like hurting yourself, sexuality and pessimism.

Joe: I was in the same posistion as you when i was in highschool, but i was also awkardly shy. After my sophomore year I decided to leave school and just work on my band full time. and thank god i did that. within a few months I got a record deal with Hellcat records and have been touring and making records ever since! So my advice is keep in mind that as soon as your out of school nothing you did there will ever matter again. If you not the most popular kid there or you just cant get a date, it really dosnt matter end the end and wont affect what you do with your life.

HELP ME!!

Joe: Maybe it would be for the best if you two just broke up. espeacially as he is the reason your life is falling apart. but i know, you love him. and its a bit of a curse isnt it?! i was with a girl for 7 months and all she ever did was make me feel useless and awful about myself. but what could I do? i loved her. after a few months i thought, seriously this has to stop. so it ended. it took me 3 or 4 months to get over her and to stop wishing i would get back with her, and then one day it suddenly didnt matter anymore and out of the blue i didnt give a shit about her in anyway. it was really all over and ive been the happiest I have ever been since.

Half-bi?

Joe: Maybe your a sophisticated sex robot sent back though time to change the future for one lucky lady.

Joe: When I broke up with my last girlfriend I was extremely depressed for a long time, I couldnt enjoy anything, tour, girls, finding buried treasure in my backyard. Even striking oil was a bummer to me! My advice, time heals all wounds. When a friend of mine told me this I thought he knew nothing but it turns out he knew everything.
