Back in the Day: Is Smash Mouth's 'All Star' still stuck in yer head?Think back to 1999 and and one of the first songs that pops into your head will most likely be All Star by Smash Mouth. The song couldn't have been played any more than it was on both radio and television in what seemed to be all 365 days of that year. February 24, 2008Adventures in Downtown LA
When I first moved to LA in 2004 I was told by many people that there was nothing to do in Downtown Los Angeles. They were so wrong.
The past few months I have checked out so many great restaurants, bars and museums in the downtown area. It's a great feeling to go from Hollywood which feels like a town and beach areas like Santa Monica to a real city in a matter of minutes. On Saturday, Kyla and I started our day off at the Natural History Musuem where were educated about mammals, dinosaurs and minerals. ![]() After the museum we had dinner at TheStandard Hotel. The hotel itself puts a modern twist on a retro-feel. There is a bar and pool on the roof as well that overlooks the entire city. If you are ever in Downtown I suggest you check this out.We ended our night at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel. I hadn't heard of this place until recently but had to check it out. From the second I walked in I knew this was easily my favorite hotel in California. The lobby is filled with fountains and the first six floors composed of restaurants, a spa, gift shops and more. It's like a cruise ship but on land.We headed into the glass elevator to go to the lounge of the 35th floor. After you pass the sixth floor, the rest of the ride is outdoors. You get an insane view of the city and it honestly feels as if you are flying. Click here for video footage! Once you get to the 35th floor you enter the lounge and are seated at a booth that gives you another great view of the city. The whole lounge gives you a 360 degree view so there really is no bad place to sit. Here's the BEST part -- The entire floor rotates! In about an hour you get to see the entire 360 degree view of the city without even leaving your seat! Check out MY PHOTOS for pictures from the day/night. That was my Saturday! I can't wait to see what else Downtown LA has to offer.--DJ Rossstar

February 16, 2008Foxboro Hot Tubs news + Best telemarketing phone call ever
It's happens to all of us.
You get a phone call from a company trying to solicit you with their product. Most of us either hang up right away, towards the middle of their speech or say "NOT INTERESTED." The call I received today at 10:30am takes the cake! Man: "Hello sir. This is your phone provider. You will notice on your next bill that the amount due will be lower. This is cause....(I hang up) Two second later the phone rings again. Rossstar: Hello Man: "Are you retarded?" Rossstar: Excuse me Man: "Are--you--retarded?" Rossstar: No. Man: "Well then why would you hang up on your phone company when we are offering you a great deal?" At this point I said I was not interested and hung up! How ridiculous? Is that even legal? --DJ Rossstar ![]()
