September 22, 2008This Week on DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show
There are so many great things going on with me and my show this month.
First off, beginning the first week of October, you will be able to go to any Hot Topic location and pick up Substream Magazine (featuring my own column!) This is something I have always wanted to do and Substream has made it a reality. On September 30, pick up Bayside's Shudder. The record is fantastic and I sing gang vocals on "Boy," "The Ghost" and "Roshambo." You'll see my name in the CD booklet under additional musicians. How amazing is that!? Tonight I will be hosting Havoc on the 101 on DirecTV Channel 101 from 11 p.m. PT - 3 a.m. PT. I'm there every Monday night but many of you haven't caught the show ... maybe you will tonight. It's music videos and your text messages on national TV! Finally, I will have I Set My Friends on Fire on DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show this Wednesday night and Fight Fair this Thursday night. As always, you can hear the show on Idobi Radio and watch it on Stickam. It's been six years since I started my career and I have no plans on stopping anytime soon! That's all for now. Feel free to leave me a question. I will be compiling the best twenty and answering them in a separate post by the end of tonight. DJ Rossstar

September 21, 2008Movies, Movies, Movies
I haven't done much since Friday night because Kyla Fox is sick ... but sometimes staying in can be just as fun ...Friday night we got some Japanese food from our new favorite place and rented My Sassy Girl starring my celebrity crush (from my college years) Elisha Cuthbert. The movie is about a serious college student who meets and falls in love with a wild girl (Cuthbert) who is definitely on the crazy side. It's a cute romantic comedy with a lot of twists and turns and the ending will shock you!
![]() Saturday night we decided to stay in again and rent another movie. This time we chose The Quiet starring, once again, Elisha Cuthbert. This film is very dark and deals with some very disturbing content. After the death of her father, a deaf girl named Dot goes to live with her family friends ... and in this family, everyone has issues. The father and daughter have a sexual relationship that the daughter is trying to escape from and the mother seems to be on another planet, always poppin' pills. Dot and Nina (Cuthbert) soon become friends and the two decide to put a stop to her sick father ... for good. ![]() I should really start my own movie review show in addition to my punk rock show. I definitely see more movies a year than the average person. Speaking of, I'll be in Westwood tonight checking out LAKEVIEW TERRACE! DJ Rossstar

Hear DJ Rossstar on the New Bayside Record NOW!
Back in August, I had the opportunity to record gang vocals with Bayside for three songs on their new record Shudder.
The record hits stores on September 30, but you can hear the entire thing now on their MySpace page. My vocals are on the songs "Boy," "The Ghost of St. Valentine" and "Roshambo." Remember, I recorded this with the entire band and their producer, so you may not be able to distinguish between the voices, but I am in there! When the record comes out my name will be credited in the Additional Vocals section, something I have never done before and with a band I love and respect. You will love this record. DJ Rossstar

'Insominac'
I'm sitting here listening to Green Day's Insomniac. It's been almost 13 years since I first bought the record on October 14th, 1995 and as I continue to get older, I realize more and more how incredible of a record Insomniac is both lyrically and musically.
It's some of the darkest songs Billie Joe has ever written and the album as a whole has stood the test of time. I wanted to post some music videos of my favorite songs off the record, the ones that I connect to the most, but unfortunately those are the ones that never made it as singles. Instead, I have attached some videos that include the lyrics to each song so you can truly see how great of a writer Billie Joe is. DJ Rossstar
