February 13, 2009My Friday The 13th (2009) Review!
I've been an avid Friday The 13th fanatic since I was eight years old.
It was during that time in which I was exposed to the earlier films in
the series. I immediately fell in love with both the character and
background story of Jason Vorhees. It was just so intriguing to me.
It's been six years since Freddy Vs. Jason hit theaters (2003) and it's easy to say that I was more than just 'excited' to finally see Jason back on the screen. I especially enjoyed the idea of the film revisiting the early era of Jason Vorhees, when he is still human and vulnerable. I don't want to give too much away because I don't want my review to be a giant spoiler, but I will say this ... I was incredibly pleased with Friday The 13th because it explained Jason's character from an entirely different point of view. You finally get to see where he lives, where he stores his dead bodies, what he does when he's not killing people ... you even get to see his bed! And the fact that he has secret passageways, a security system outside his house and traps set up all over the woods, shows that he's actually quite smart and not just a killing machine. The past films were shot from only the victims point of view, with Jason popping up every few minutes to kill them, only to disappear right after. This time around you get to follow Jason on his Crystal Lake Adventures. And when it comes to the victims ... you get exactly what you were hoping for ... lots of partying, boobs, sex, death, more boobs, gore, more boobs and drugs)! Many longtime fans will shun Friday The 13th (2009) for 'altering' the original storyline. Then again, Jason became a zombie in Part 6, fought a girl with teleconnectic powers in Part 7, traveled on a cruise ship to Manhattan in Part 8, was revealed to be a demonic worm in Part 9, went to outer space in Jason X and looked like a helpful dumb animal in Freddy Vs. Jason. Friday The 13th (2009) didn't need to take Jason out of Crystal Lake to keep the story fresh and original. By adding these new elements, it answered questions that I had been wondering about Jason for over 15 years ... And that alone was worth the wait. DJ Rossstar I was interviewed after the midnight showing of Friday The 13th by Reelz Channel:

February 1, 2009Having A Blast
I just uploaded six new photos to my profile.
I will be making a big announcement later this week ... any guesses? I'm off to Cinespace tonight to see Hunter Revenge. I can't believe I'm only 11 days away from seeing Friday the 13th. It's my favorite horror series and I've been lucky that 11 films have been released since the original Friday the 13th hit theaters in 1980. Don't forget ... today is the 15 year anniversary of Green Day's Dookie. Almost all of your favorite rock bands wouldn't have made it as big as they did if it weren't for this record. DJ Rossstar
