The 2007 nominations for the mtvU Woodie Awards -MTV's college network awards show- have been announced and we want to know who you plan to vote for. Up first is the biggest Woodie of them all...Woodie of the Year. Cast your vote for the artist of the year based on these nominees and see who is crowned Nov. 8.

As if you hadn’t already planned to go see Dashboard Confessional on his upcoming tour, now you can pick up an exclusive CD of covers at the show. Mr. Carrabba takes on killer tracks from bands such as Weezer, The Cure, The Movielife and They Might Be Giants on this exclusive disc titled The Wire Tapes: Volume One. If Dashboard left it up to you to pick songs for another cover album, (perhaps The Wire Tapes: Volume Two) which of these tracks would you want to hear covered most?

Some performers have grown tired of shopping for clothes at different stores and have decided to create their own line. You’ve seen their shirts at the mall and on their bodies. These entrepreneurs have all been successful at marketing their fashion items (Although some tend to differ about Pete Wentz' Clandestine Industries). Grunge has it's Seattle. Jazz has it's New Orleans and emo has it's own historical locations to the genre. Whether you are an old-school fan or a n00b, there are specific places around the United States that are legendary in the scene. Which of these would you like to visit most? On Chamillionaire's new single "Hip-Hop Police/The Evening News" the socially conscious rapper gives us a humorous and poignant social commentary ranging from Don Imus to George Bush. Not to be outdone, last week Fall Out Boy brought us an awesome video about the suffering in Uganda. Meanwhile, other artists have done their part to make the world a better place. So, who is your favorite socially conscious artist?

A ton of great bands have been exploding out of their scenes this past year, and in 2008 some of them may become household names. They've been working hard and rocking out even harder. With so many out there it would be impossible to list them all, but here are six that have been rapidly growing in popularity. Who do you think is the best?

Fall Out Boy have successfully taken their pop-punk sound to the next level in the past by incorporating soul and classical arrangements in their music. As the boys begin to write their fourth album it appears they are once again taking a risk, incorporating an acoustic guitar and bass into some songs. Pete Wentz has described the new album as “folky sounding.” If the boys were to release a folk-inspired album with acoustic and slower numbers, would their careers go down the drain?

Rage Against The Machine vocalist Zack De La Rocha has finished recording his first solo album after a seven year process. Rocha sings and plays keyboards on the record which he is currently looking for a way to distribute. Some of your favorite musicians have left their band temporarily or permanently to record their own separate music. Solo albums have a tendency to either bomb or turn out better than the artist's original project. Out of all the musicians gone solo...who is your favorite?

There are around only ten million identical twins in the world. An even smaller amount of identical twins perform in bands together. While they may look the same, each brother or sister brings something unique to their music. Out of all the talented twins in town, who are your favorite?

Girls can rock just as hard as boys. Anyone who tells you differently has obviously not seen any of the girls listed below in action. They are all great at what they do…but who do you think is the "best"?
