1. green day - this was pre-american idoit and 70% of the crowd didnt give a shit and were there for blink but by the end everyone was blown away by them. if you have never seen green day live you dont know what real concert is. two words, the best. they sound just as good as on the record unlike most bands.plus they do fun stuff like pull out water guns and "covers" of other songs. go see green day
2. ozzy osbourne - he puts guys 20 years younger then him to shame, he is rock and roll
3. Gwar - its was just my kind of fun

trust me I have seen almost every band today in concert and these people know how to put on a show.

Eaaaaasy

1) Mystery Jets (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnjdsmMI3pk) They're gigs are absolutely amazing. They do alot of gigs in really cool venues like churches (they've also performed a gig on a boat in Loch Ness, Scotland!). They're possibily the weirdest but coolest band ever, Blaine's (the lead singer) Dad Henry plays keyboard in the band (He is 57 years old), and they used to do these really weird gigs on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham. I think they're an amazing band live just because the interaction they have with everybody, at gigs they'd have a full blown conversation with an audience member and make sure everybody was involved. Just search the live videos, then you'll know what I mean :]

2. McFly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMusNt4jrzQ) Oh my goodness a pop band that can actually play & write their own music? Shocking! haha McFly are an absolute treasure live, even though they're usually selling out 10,000 seated venues all the time they usually find the time to play small venues. The interaction and love from the crowd is amazing.

3. Lionel Richie- nuff said really :'D

Skindread - they were the opening act for HIM and I had only heard 1 of their songs but they just had insane energy and the music was great.

My Chemical Romance - I don't know why but they are the only band where I don't mind getting trampled by people moshing and that just makes it more fun. Any other band I don't mind being far away from the stage.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - I've only seen them at a festival, but they sound really great live. And for whatever reason, not many bands can accomplish that at a festival.
goldbrickdreams: 06/05/2007 6:39 PM
1. Weird Al (he does allot of stuff during his show)
2. Down To The Bone (a jazz group)
3. My Chemical Romance (saw them two times so far and will see them again August 25)

by far, best band live ive seen, Rx Bandits.
these guys make the most out of a live show. cds just dont do them justice, and any fan of RxB will agree that going to one of their shows will change both your perspective on music and the standard of live performances. Half of the enjoyment is the crowd that goes to see them. The Rx Bandits community feels like family, and t he energy between them and the crowd is...almost haunting. Words can't describe it. For the best time of your life, next to making sweet love to Mandy Moore, GO SEE RX BANDITS!

second best live, would have to be converge. after listening to a cd of theirs, you wonder if anyone could pull off such fine tuned, precise chaos that is converge, but guess what? they do it so well, their cds should be burned because they sound so amazing live, which makes for a great band.

third best, A Fire Inside, pre-mainstream success (not that there's anything wrong with jumping into the mainstream). complete mind blowing experience, a crowd of AFI fans that didn't join on with the singles...truly hearts in unison. Just another band that sounds 10 times better live.

hmmm... that's a pretty good question. i haven't been to many good rock shows/concerts so far. fortunately, i plan on attending Warped Tour in Pomona, CA late this month and a Decemberists concert in early july, but so far, not much. anyways, here's what i've got so far:

The two best live performances I've seen have both been local bands from here in Pocatello, Idaho. And actually, they're all either high schoolers or recent graduates. Red Shift was probably the best. their concert blew my mind. They magnificently blended their music together. I don't even really know what genre of music they are. Is completely amazing a genre of music? If it is, then that's what they are. It was great. My buddy Sam almost soiled himself 'cause the concert was so great.

The Ultrasounds were second best. My buddy Jesse Shilk was on guitar, and he totally kicked butt. I dunno if i've ever heard a better guitarist than him. And their lead singer was amazing, too. Oh gosh, that was a good concert.

I would prolly hafta say that Three Cord Wonder, Denver-based Christian punk band, are the third best live performers I've experienced. They were totally full of energy, even after a day full of driving up to Idaho from Colorado. Plus, their music is totally great. They sound much better live than on CD, too. And the whole time, they were jumpin around, dancing, and having a good time. They were telling jokes between songs, and it was great.

so yeah. those are the three best live performances I've seen. And dang, am I glad that i saw them.

Brand New - their music is great on cd, even more amazing live
Butch Walker - puts on a great, entertaining show
The Matches - so much energy on stage no matter how many people they're playing to

1.Green Day... They are awesome live. I love the way Billie Joe interacts with the audience. They are amazing performers.
2.My Chemical Romance.... So far this year i have seen them 3x and am going to see them again on 8/25.. I love how much passion and energy they have. They are an amazing and talented band.
3.Pearl Jam.. I'm not a huge fan of them, but i have to say when i went to see them live it was one of the best concerts i have ever been to.
